An Internet list includes names of businesses, government buildings and university structures around Pittsburgh that protesters apparently plan to illegally target during the G-20 summit, Team 4 investigator Jim Parsons reported.
Many of the 100 sites are in the East Liberty, Shadyside, Oakland and Lawrenceville neighborhoods, away from the site of the global economic summit, which will be held Sept. 24-25 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center downtown.

So they will pay for me to protest while I recieve a lap dance or theroputic all over body massage?
No. Down the other way. Towards town, 2700 block of Liberty. (Sorry for the late reply, I was out of town and internet-less all weekend.)
I just don’t talk politics with them.

It will be interesting to see if they try to show up at Teresa Heinz's 'farm' in Fox Chapel for the event they are planning there. (Thursday evening I think.) I have a feeling the the Tides people will declare that one off limits for the commie punks.
I work downtown. Protestors gathered at the corner of Grant and Fifth around lunchtime. I walked past them. There were about 25-30 “kids” didn’t see anyone older than 20 or so. Also looked like they hadn’t bathed or changed clothes since the last G20 summit. Their “signs” were ripped pieces of cardboard (not even cut into a square) and they apparently used black magic marker. It was pouring down rain, so the marker ran and none of the signs were legible. Pretty funny if you ask me. Clueless what they were protesting about. I think they are clueless too.
What am I missing here...it is “illegal” to protest in Pittsburgh? No freedom of assembly?
It’s happening again now, FWIW. Local news though has gone to late night comedy stooges. Police are moving towards kids in Oakland. Gas used etc.
LOL!
No, it’s not illegal to peacefully protest. But if your protest includes marching down public streets you have to have a permit so the police can reroute traffic, etc. These were targeting businesses to shut them down and they didn’t have permits. Thousands marched from Oakland to downdown yesterday and were peaceful and there were no problems. The problems came when a few unruly idiots that were not in this march decided to block streets, disrupt traffic and destroy private property. That is illegal pretty much anywhere in the USA.
