In Oklahoma, Darwinist Choir Sings the Praises of Suppression and Censorship
Its funny how a little thing like a documentary film can send the Darwinist choir into tizzy tantrums. If Darwins theory is the be all end all of science, why are they so worried by a small, independent film? Because, it is the power of the ideas in the film that have them scared.
The makers of Unlocking the Mystery of Life and The Privileged Planet have produced the third in their trilogy of films about intelligent design, Darwins Dilemma The Mystery of the Cambrian Explosion. Its a fantastic film and the producers are screening it in various venues around the country before it's release on DVD next week. One of which is the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, which has PZ Myers --who has one of the biggest Darwinian bullyhorns anywhere-- really in a fit. How dare a natural history museum allow such a film to be screened!
"The real shame, though, is that they've landed a respectable venue for the premiere: The Sam Noble Museum of Natural History in Oklahoma. Well, it was respectable. This will put a little spot of schmutz on their glossy reputation, I fear. So, where are the University of Oklahoma biology professors? Where is the staff of the museum? Where are the rational people of the state of Oklahoma? They should all be rising up in disgust to mock this ridiculous affair."
This explicit bit of disgust has an implicit threat of censorship behind it. Since the comment comes from Myers it can be filed in the department of no-big-frickin-surprise. Hes the same state-funded blogger who said this about Darwin doubters:"I say, screw the polite words and careful rhetoric. It¹s time for scientists to break out the steel-toed boots and brass knuckles, and get out there and hammer on the lunatics and idiots."And in a follow-up for the department of no-big-frickin-surprise heres this bit of intolerance from Myers:
"Please dont try to tell me that you object to the tone of our complaints. Our only problem is that we arent martial enough, or vigorous enough, or loud enough, or angry enough. The only appropriate responses should involve some form of righteous fury, much butt-kicking, and the public firing and humiliation of some teachers, many schoolboard members, and vast numbers of sleazy far-right politicians."Now, according to Myers the Sam Noble Museum should be ashamed, ashamed of supporting free-speech and not succumbing to the Darwinist lobbies demands that all criticism of Darwin be suppressed. I dont think theres much shame in that.
Maybe because the attacks on TToE are not scientific.
This is the same as being concerned about astrologers saying they are a scientific alternative to astronomy.
As usual, you use a liberal-style spin to make white into black and up into down.
The anti-science crown resembles the DNC more and more each day.
“crown”=”crowd”
Sooth Sayers, Astrologers, Alchemists hardest hit.
Film at 11
I’ll make some popcorn, while you and Myers spit on each other.
you must be a troll from DU....or the daily KOS.
Dole Office Clerk: Occupation?
Comicus: Stand-up philosopher.
Dole Office Clerk: What?
Comicus: Stand-up philosopher. I coalesce the vapors of human experience into a viable and meaningful comprehension.
Dole Office Clerk: Oh, a *BS* artist!
Comicus: *Grumble*...
Dole Office Clerk: Did you BS last week?
Comicus: No.
Dole Office Clerk: Did you *try* to BS last week?
Comicus: Yes!
Just like ombama, people are learning the truth more and more about the YECers and their anti-American agenda...
>>No need to reply, FreeDumb. We already know that you are all for using the power of the state, or the mob, or whatever other means that might be at your disposal, to suppess or censor the scientific debate over origins.<<
The state has a solid interest in ensuring theology is not taught as science. We will lose our position in the world if we allow such conflation.
Once there is a scientific alternative to TToE that does not include God or a God-equivalent, science is ready to hear it. So far, none have emerged and you have, in all your posts from WWN and its affiliates, yet to post one.
As usual, your equivalent to calling people who speak the truth “racists” fails and your agenda to undermine America exposed.
Sorry, Vaquero, the Temple of Darwin fanatics are the ones who are advocating force and violence to censor the scientific debate over origins. As such, if anybody the Darwiniacs are the ones who should be likened to anti-science Luddites. In fact, I think I shall refer to them as such from now on. Thanks for drawing my attention to the hypocrisy of the Darwin cult.
If you don’t want theology taught as science, then maybe you should fight to remove all references to Darwood’s natural selection god from our public school and university textbooks.

The fact you don’t understand TToE does not unmake it as science.
Again, you “argue” like a liberal.
“Get off my lawn!” Old man Darwin
Facts are useful. God’s Word is truth. Ignoring God’s Word is the self made man that worships his god.
Except his lawn is every public school and every public university and virtually the entire MSM.
facts are facts...the universe is 14 billion years old, the earth 4.5 billion. Solid provable FACTS.
God is not in the fossil record, but that does not negate or affirm his creation nor his hands-on approach to humankind, that is the unknown and that is where your faith comes in.
There is not a soul in Christendom that cannot believe BOTH if they open their minds.
The outer reaches of the Universe may very well be 14 billion or more years old as measured in terms of elapsed physical processes, but the Earth is quite young in terms of the same (6-10,000 years). If you weren't so utterly and totally brainwashed by the Temple of Darwin cult, you would have familiarized yourself with the creation cosmologists who have demonstrated that it is quite possible for the Earth to be young, and the outer reaches of the Universe to be billions of years old, and yet both owe their existence to the exact same creation event.
