To be sure that we had a parking space close to the Comcast Center, [Mrs] T and I arrived around 7:20AM. And our timing worked. We got a spot within 500 feet of our protest of Obamas speech at this liberal bastion of education.
Attendees had already lined up waiting for the doors to open.
And the media was all around just waiting to media someone. We were there to oblige. By our count, there was at least 15 different media outlets (domestic & foreign) interviewing the groups that eventually showed up.
BELOW: Several media outlets waiting for us to set up before interviewing us. As I was setting out the posters they took videos. And they even took a video of me screwing together the flag pole. Go figure?
We met up with a group of conservative students who belong to CAMPUSREFORM.ORG. They are a great group of young adults being very, very informed on the health care bill and other political items. CampusReform.org was developed by Leadership Institute to fight leftist abuses and biases on campuses across America. They are on over 2,200 campuses nation wide. They are Americas future and we are in good hands.
Most interviews after they arrived were by this group since [Mrs] T and I could have been considered off campus agitators. One of the students in their group got a call saying we were on VAs NBC 9AM news.
Another group that joined us was AMERICANS FOR PROSPERITY. They came in fairly late due to having to find a distant parking space.
BELOW LEFT: Some of the U of Md conservative students arriving about 8AM. BELOW RIGHT: Their senior representative has his first interview even before getting organized. What impressed me about the students was their cool while being interviewed. With their knowledge of the facts, they werent tripped up or flustered.
BELOW LEFT: More media and police. The major with the U of MD security that I talked to on Wednesday eventually stopped by to see if everything was alright. BELOW RIGHT: First of the bomb dog sweeps before Obambi showed up.
BELOW LEFT: Liberals seem to leave trash wherever they go. And they were just waiting in line. BELOW RIGHT: Lady in red shirt/white slacks (left center) cleans up after the obamabots.
BELOW LEFT: Students line fence for media interviews. LaRouche sign in back ground. Our group moved several times to distance our self from him. BELOW RIGHT: Heated argument. Hey WALTER REED regulars - recognize the black guy from Walter Reed Friday FReeps? Its been a while since hed been out with us. Hes since got married but Im not saying that is why hes not out with us any more. He kept our poster that said Criticism is not Racism - I just dont like Obamas socialism.
BELOW LEFT: The U.S. and Dont Tread on Me flags, the trademark flags from the 912 March. BELOW RIGHT: One last interview from a student reporter.
BELOW LEFT: Union thugs (orange shirts) were in abundance today. I counted about 6 different unions there. No sign of ACORN though there were two young black ladies who were getting signatures on a petition supporting the obamacare plan. BELOW RIGHT: This union group chanted HealthCare Now for the cameras. Having healthy lungs I shouted some arguments hoping to get into their sound bite.
And here is a panoramic video view of our area. Temps were a little chilly with a brisk wind that you can hear.
While we got still pics of the LaRouche idiot with the Hitler mustache on Obama, the anti-abortion person with a large poster of an aborted fetus, and the death theatrics of ObamaCare, but decided not to post them.
That's a great way to put it!
U of Maryland is a liberal school in a one party liberal state run by big spending Dems. Maryland is now projecting a devastating $2 billion deficit in 2011 and is being forced into huge spending cuts.
Great report! What time did the Pres show up?
Taxman Bravo Zulu! For the FReep, the AAR and the pics!
Was that Trueblackman?
Thanks for representing sanity!
Awesome work! Thank you for so faithfully protesting for the truth and for our Nation!
You and Mrs. TR are officially now “campus radicals”.
The press was already there at 7:20AM when we arrived. The students also had already started standing in line so it was a full area when we got there.
And thanks for the kudos.
Nope, not TBM. Though TBM did stop by Walter Reed several weeks back. He’s looking great and is his normal talkative self.
This young man was also talkative though a few octaves lower than TBM.
[Mr] T
Maybe they’ll cut the spending for U of MD. The unions are praising themselves for giving up their COLAs. Jeez, people are out of work or having their income severely reduced and the unions pat themselves on the back.
[Mr] T
You both are welcome. I learned a lot about college conservatives during this FReep. Just glad we went.
[Mr] T
Mr T, I would never capitalize the press. I was wondering what time the president arrived.
Sorry, early morning reply.
I’m not sure when he showed up. With the college students there and doing such a good job we left around 10:40. We also left early thinking the area may be locked down when the “Pres” actually shows up. Also II, 3+ hours out there was good enough for us.
[Mr] T
BTTT
Thanks for all you do Mr and Mrs T!!!
You are welcome. We’re just glad that the college students came along. It was getting lonely there for a while.
[Mr] T
Ping. Thought you were in a previous ping.
[Mr] T
You DC Freepers really rock.
Thank you for all you do.
Thank you. Hopefully we can FReep together next time you’re in town.
[Mr] T
Go get ‘em, TR!!
Big DC Chapter PING!
I sure ditto that, Basil! Thanks TroopRally for posting all the great pictures and for being there! It was such a pleasure to meet and Freep with all you wonderful DC Chapter Freepers in DC! We will be looking forward to doing it again! :)
A humble ‘you are welcome’ from the DC Chapter. Glad we could make you all feel welcome.
