Levin and Imus on White House race-baiting, Lupica, (Imus needs to 'get new friends'), Rush, Beck

On WABC radio this morning, Mark Levin and Don Imus talked about White House efforts to distract, with race-baiting, the nation from talking about the real issues. When Imus brought up Glenn Beck, Mark reiterated his objections to people comparing Beck with Rush Limbaugh. (Maybe people ought to really listen to what Mark said about Beck before commenting.)
It was a great talk-radio, informative and very funny. (Audio after the jump.)

No comparison between Limbaugh and Beck. They appear to be working together using their individual strengths rather than competing.

It's dangerous for a President to be protected by a white guild race card. In a free society we must be able to challenge our leaders and hold them accountable. The “race card” is the antithesis of everything a free society stands for...

That’s EXACTLY what I think. We are at ‘critical mass’ in this country right now. It’s time for them to pull together.

I love them both. But I know in the past Levin has not been too kind to Beck. Calls him a “ripoff artist.”

There are a lot of big egos in the media. Its almost a prerequisite. I like Levin and Beck just fine.
That said I wish Beck had been the one to expose the new ACORN video yesterday. Hannity’s show doesn’t allow him to pick it apart the way Beck can devote a whole hour to it.

I’ll say it again. We don’t need this, Mark!
We are at war against socialist and marxist invasions. Our liberties are at risk. Now is not the time to pick fights with conservative talk show hosts.
Stick to the bigger picture and leave the ego (and book sale issues) at home.

Levin acuses Beck of self promoting—I think Mark promotes his book every night. Just saying. Mark should let Glenn be Glenn. There is room for everyone. If Glenn is a fake, he’ll fail on his own.

Beck has a radio show and TV show. That gives him some advantages ratings-wise, but Rush is still the core of the conservative talk show phenomenon.

I think Hannity is worried about his ratings (Beck was just 30,000 behind him on Tuesday) and he offered big bucks to get the “exclusive” for that video. If you notice, Rush and O’Reilly often mention Beck on their shows; never a word from Hannity about Beck, even when they working on the same story. I think it’s called “jealous!” Hannity and Levin need to put their egos aside and, as someone just said, WORK TOGETHER!

I hardly think Mark is the least bit jealous of Beck. Mark has a lot going for him and has been fighting against the left for a lot longer than Beck has been around.

For conservatism to dominate the minds of America, conservatives must be about principles not personalities. We have many voices not one. We uphold the individuality of the individual and yet are in debt to the myriad of thinkers, writers and talkers that make up the conservative movement. Beck is fresh on the stage and we ought to welcome him to the discussion, Rush has occupied the lime-light for decades and is still the top name on the marquee. But still the heart of the movement is ideas, not personalities - not even if that personality is Ronald Reagan or Sarah Palin. There must be room in the discussion for the ideas of Rush, Beck, Levin, Palin, Ron Paul, and the religious right. The battle will be lost if we defeat Obama, but his ideas become the norm, even if FOX has the highest ratings.
Ideas have consequences - talk shows have ratings!

There’s something defintely brewing. I’ve noticed for the last 8 months.
O’Reilly and Beck are tight. And both never ever mention Hannity.
O’Reilly never, ever intros the Hannity Show - like Hannity leads in to Greta (even offers a sneak peak during his Great Great AAP segment). And O’Reilly always lump Rush in with the “far right.” Never had Levin on.
Hannity, Levin and Rush are super tight.
Too bad because I’m a fan generally of all. They all do great work.

We need Rush, we need Glenn, we need Mark, we need that lady in the pink top who stood all day on the front lines 9/12, we need the young mothers pushing their strollers with their babies, we need the elderly lady who had the seizure Saturday at the rally, we need the ordinary patriots carrying signs, we need every voice speaking out, all with different personalities, different deliveries, but, all with the ultimate goal of defeating the evil that resides in the current administration. My heart will be broken, again, if violence ever breaks out over these issues but the magnitude of this mission demands that we be prepared to defend ourselves.

As much as I love Mark's show, I really wish he'd knock off the Howard Stern act - ie. constantly accusing other hosts of ripping him off. Mark does a great job at what he does: explaining current events through the eyes of a very competent legal professional. Glenn Beck is more of a muckraker: doing the job the MSM refuses to do, and doing it quite well. Hannity and Rush are the hearts and souls of conservatism. Even Michael Savage plays a role: really pi$$ing off those who we should delight in pi$$ing off.
Let's knock off the circular firing squad nonsense and keep our sights pointed at the real enemy: the Left.

Levin should look at San Francisco and learn from Weiner's hubris. Ol' Michael went off once too often with the "I'm the most brilliant talk show host ever, all the others steal from me" schtick. Now, the closest outlet to his home turf is Sacramento. And not because the station he was on changed formats (like happened to Beck here last year).

One thing that bugged me about Beck is he doesn’t credit the author of anything he read on air.
Never hurts to credit them.
