GAY rights activists are outraged over a church conference that aims to help people struggling with "unwanted homosexuality".
Activists have vowed to protests outside this weekend's Lovelinx conference at Mitcham Baptist Church, the Whitehorse Leader reports.
The conference, organised through various Christian ministiries and the Exodus Global Alliance, aims to heal "sexual brokenness"
Their website says the event is not homophobic, but offers "hope and practical help to people struggling with sexual struggles or unwanted homosexuality".
But gay rights campaigner Tim Wright said the conference was hurtful and encouraged people to repress their sexuality.

So I guess an individuals sexual orientation is their decision... Except when it isn’t their decision.
Or to put it another way, gay rights activists support a person’s right to be gay, but not their choice to not be gay.
The sunny weather changes to good chance of rain.
Homosexuals are still angry.
Details at 11.
Excellent insight. I knew a woman who struggled with this. Her first sexual experience was with a female at the age of 13 and she really had a problem with commitment after that. Her problem was that she really wanted to be married and have kids but she felt it would be unfair to a husband if she was constantly tempted to cheat with a woman. One can only imagine how many young women are going through this today due to early introduction to same-sex imagery or ideas from porn, music videos, actresses bragging about their bi sexuality and the educational system urging them to not be negative to such behaviors.
Because the very idea that a person can choose not to be gay shatters the myth they’d been trying to pedal the last 2 decades, that homosexuality is genetic and hence they have no choice.

No! It isn’t harmful. In fact the most loving and caring thing you could do for another person is help him escape sin.
Apparently homosexuality is like the mafia or Islam, you can never quit.
Bingo!
It is hard for me to understand why a group of people who indulge in a kind of behavior that, when thought of by normal people induces nausea, would want to spread the ill feeling around.
shared misery?
Childhood sexual abuse and rape also are big factors.
Most gays I know think these conferences are a good idea... for those who want to change. No one is being forced or even pressured to attend.
Looking for any indication of which city/state this event is in.
What a bunch of developmentally arrested perverts.
Sounds like they're upset about other people getting the help they so desperately need...
bingo...
I am sure any group of perverts would be angry about people that did not want to be like them.
One can only wonder if people against the perversion of homosexuality can use the same tactic. You know go to a perverted homosexual gathering and protest against them. Oh wait when normal people do this it is called hate speech.
Now we have to wonder if police will be at this church conference to protect these church conference attendees from hate speech spewed by homosexuals.
