WASHINGTON (AFP) ABC News has apologized after a high-profile news anchor reported on Twitter that US President Barack Obama called rapper Kanye West a "jackass" in an off-the-record conversation.
The exchange, provoked by West's conduct at the MTV Video Music Awards when he interrupted an acceptance speech by teen star Taylor Swift, occurred during a break between a series of interviews by Obama at the White House Monday.
The comment, from an off-the-record portion of an interview by US business channel CNBC, was tweeted to one million followers on the micro-blogging site by "Nightline" anchor Terry Moran. The tweet was later deleted.

We're fake sorry for the fake mistake.

Is that a new feature in Twitter?
I didn’t know that one could delete tweets.

It is not sorry. ABC did exactly what the White House told them to do. Obama needs to shake the racist taint he spilled on himself and he wants to be seen being critical of a popular rapper.

This also shows the absolute lack of integrity by the media for reporting on an “off-the-record”. conversation.

They FINALLY report something factual and apologize for it?
Possibility for satire.

Nightline is so up to date (they still use an incandescent light bulb for their signature emblem. Wonder if that will be banned in 2012?)

To: Dallas59
Here’s another one the MSM will claim that “non-journalist” wouldn’t understand. They will state that a “reporters” word must be good in order to give the interviewee the confidence in them. How many “off the record” breaks did they give Bush? My guess is ZERO!

Yes, we can have Taylor sticking Kanye’s head into a keg and holding him there. Can’t wait.
