Obama Is Redefining the American Presidency

It's time we question the popular assumption that the power of the Presidency should "bring relief and prosperity" to the American people, as well as the belief that that goal ranks high on Obama's agenda.

FOX's Bill O'Reilly recently touched on a common misunderstanding of the role of the American Presidency. It's not about bringing relief and prosperity to the American people. It's about preserving, protecting, and defending the Constitution that enables the people to build their own prosperity.

He comes to bring retribution upon those institutions that have, by his reading of history, oppressed the poor in America and exploited the Third World -- hence his sponsorship of the Global Poverty Act of 2007 while a Senator.

I hope American blacks also realize at some point that he's not even all about them, as they like to believe; his loyalties lie with this fantasy "Third World" and all its resentments, jealousy and hatreds.

I once knew a black woman who went to Africa thinking she was going to find some sort of mystical home, and she came back saying that she realized that what she really was ... was an American. She had nothing in common with Africans or Africa. Obama, on the other hand, has nothing in common with Americans of any color. Maybe once blacks start realizing that they too are suffering economically under him (those not in Congress, at least) because of his hatred of the US and US success, they'll have an awakening.

To date, there's little evidence that members of the Republican political class are able or willing to openly question the proposition that national relief and prosperity don't rank high on Obama's agenda.

Yes, the real question before the American people is whether Barack Obama is a Manchurian Marxist irrevocably committed to the radical restructuring of America or is he merely a black Jimmy Carter who is out of control because the media will not criticize him because of his ideology and his color, the Republicans are effectively out of power, and he has the cover of an economic crisis to mask his flagrant usurpations.

If Barack Obama is only a Jimmy Carter we have hope that we will find another Ronald Reagan to put the Republic back together again. I have not thought that he is anything other than a Manchurian Marxist and so stated again and again since before the election. I was not able to leave Germany and go to America to participate in the 9/12 March so I have no firsthand knowledge of the mood of the people. I would be grateful if some FReepers could testify whether there is a general and widespread feeling that the threat that they were marching against is more than a threat to their economic security but to their fundamental American liberties.

Obama still has enough hold on enough of the country to be able to achieve a bump as a result of his speech to the joint session of Congress. This tells me that at least half the country still believes that Barack Obama is a normal American, a traditional president, one who wants the best for his country and wants our present system to continue essentially in the form in which he inherited it. Although his bump was short-lived, the fact of it nevertheless demonstrates that he can convince slightly more than half the country. And that demonstrates a state of mind which is open and receptive to Obama as a normal kind of president.

During the election campaign I posted time and again that we were doomed to lose the election unless Obama were morally destroyed. We must never lose sight of the fact that we are running against an African-American who will be protected by the media no matter what grotesqueries they have to indulge in order to protect him and their vision of a post-racial America. That is why the story about Van Jones was not covered. That is why this story about Acorn is not being covered. It goes deeper than mere bias toward the Democrat in office, it goes to the very rationale for the existence of leftism and especially for the existence of leftist media.

Much of the American populace are people of good will who are possessed of a generosity of spirit which yearns for an America free of racism. They are the people so very vulnerable to Barack Obama and to the media which tells them that support for Obama is saintly in opposition to him is racist. I believe that a growing percentage of Americans, men and women who love their country and indeed are generous in spirit are reluctantly coming to the conclusion that they have been defrauded in the last election.

They are beginning to understand that their generosity of spirit was presumed upon and manipulated for very sinister purposes. They are beginning to see the betrayal and as a fraud against their children and their grandchildren. They are beginning to understand that it is not just a question of 10% or 11% or 12% unemployment, it is a question of the survival of the legacy bequeathed to them by their parents and grandparents at places like Gettysburg and Iwo and Jima. They are beginning to understand that Obama has a purpose in handing their children a $10 trillion credit card bill which has to do with money but which also has to do with what it means to be an American.

The unbelievable crassness of the Democrat party and their henchmen in the media in playing the race card against 9/12 marchers and Joe Wilson and others demonstrates that these people are in a war to the death. They cannot let go of the racism or they must let go of their whole eschatology. They will commit any slander and any libel to avoid that.

If this is a war to the death, and if the war is to be fought with the left playing the race card, it might well be that the only way we can prevail is to morally destroy Barack Obama.
