In helping Mr. O'Keefe set up his supposed brothel, ACORN employees also invited him to attend an August conference the group was holding for prospective home-buyers. But it linked attendance to Mr. O'Keefe joining ACORN and paying $120 in annual dues: "We ask that you join ACORN." The problem is that such a request is illegal, since the ACORN housing conferences are underwritten by federal government grants. ACORN has a political arm, so insisting that attendees at its housing conferences join the group and pay dues is a no-no.
It was precisely that kind of activity that got ACORN in trouble during the Clinton administration. The Inspector General of AmeriCorps, the government's volunteer agency, accused the group of "using government resources to promote legislation." ACORN was stripped of its federal grant as a result.

No problem. I've been looking to document what has been known about ACORN. Republicans have been calling for them to lose their funding well before this new stuff came up and they had already been denied goverment funding in the 90's.
So, WHO brought them back into the loop and WHEN?
I wonder how many ACORN workers across the country are thinking “Holy crap I just be talkin’ to this Hannah girl last week, I be toast”
This young girl and her partner are heros in my book, and thank you to Glenn Beck for giving them air time.

The committee report boasted that the fund's "non-ideological" image "enabled the Trustees to make grants to organizations that use confrontational tactics against the business and governmental 'establishments' without undue risk of being accused of partisanship."

Obama quote in article: Obama was the attorney representing ACORN in this effort. Last November, he told the group, "I've been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career."

Pittsburgh public television (one of the PBS affiliates) had ACORN-sponsered T-shirts grouped right behind the assistant mayor/county commissioner - each T-shirt holding its own pre-printed sign (most of the signs were even right-side up!) as the TV show “interviewed activists” at the mike and “took questions” from “activists” who wanted more city/county/state/federal money for their particular projects.....
Same demand for money over and over and over ....
The ACORN prop’s (er, people) behind the speaker on the city hall stairs were specifically thanked at the end by the county comm. when they closed the “interviews” ....
This is potentially a LOT of Glenn Beck programs on ACORN. The hits will just keep coming.
Glenn is currently the only real investigative journalist on TV.

Beck has a large microphone and he recognized what Breibart brought him. Those 2 journalists deserve the same accolades Berstein and the other jerk got back then.

thanks infowarrior! I remember reading on a different thread that there is a lot, and that the tapes would be stetched out. I watched the interview of the journalists who wouldn’t say how many videos at the time. I can’t blame them. It’s a great strategy.
