Chuck Todd Suggests Covering Van Jones Waste Of MSM Time
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 09/15/2009 5:21:26 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

I've been trying to give Chuck Todd the benefit of the doubt when it comes to classifying him as part of what Rush would call the state-controlled media. But that indulgence was strained to the breaking point on Morning Joe today when Todd flatly rejected the notion that the MSM had under-covered the Van Jones story and suggested that delving into his background would have been a waste of MSM time.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: You say [ACORN] has been a Republican obsession. It certainly hasn't been an obsession in the media. Mike Allen said the mainstream media was slow on the Van Jones story, it was also slow on this [ACORN] story. Is that a fair charge?

CHUCK TODD: You know, no. I think Van Jones was not, this was not a big guy in the White House administration. If we're all going to try to focus on who Van Jones and his past relationships, when you go #600 down on the list of White House staff. Is that the best use of the time of the mainstream media? You know, we'll see. Clearly some on the right had objections to Van Jones and they successfully got the White House to sever ties.

Truth from the MSM, for a change. Covering the angry, racist, communist Van Jones is a waste of time for the MSM and their vision of a leftist America. It doesn’t support their agenda.

The is the same defense dumbass BOR used.

I guess it would be a waste of the media’s time, if you are using your time to do as much damage as Republicans as possible, and as Chris Matthews said do everything you can to help Obama be successful.

What is his excuse for not covering the ACORN story?

Nora O’Donnell was worse this morning. She accused the two young people who filmed Acorn of entrapment.

But media-whores Valerie Plame and Ceindy Sheehan deserved hundreds of front page news coverage....

NBC’s Todd: MSM has better things to do than cover Van Jones.

Especially if they have another story about the Iraqi shoe-thrower to grace the front page.

Chuck Todd is a bigger RAT than Van Jones is. And I mean VERMIN.
It’s critters like HIM that cause the ruination this country.

Kanye West is going to do a rap piece called Van Jones where he interrupts himself interrupting himself. Then Van Jones comes in a gives him a environmental green pill and everything is better...

I saw the fool make the comment too. Scarborough claims he's going to call him out on it on his radio show today. Somehow I don't think he will hit the man he constantly calls "Chuckie T." very hard.

BTW, I wonder if Todd would still think the story was a waste of time if the President were a Republican?

Everyone can give up any hope for Jake Tapper as well.

When it was going around on Saturday that ABC had reported a crowd of 1.2 million in DC he was frantic to debunk the idea that they had reported any such thing.

Just frantic.

There’s more, but I haven’t had any coffee yet.

The argument that because he is so low on the totem pole is nonsensical. It is still “News”. Remember the days when journalists wanted to beat the competition? Instead, MSNBC makes the competition the news. Olby focuses on Beck, BOR, fox news and former politicians. But this isn’t news?

MSNBC has this on their page: “Ex-Marine gets life for killing Calif. drug dealer” ... correct me if I am wrong, but this ex-marine is no longer a marine and didnt rise to the top of the USMC (probably below 600 is my guess.)

But Sarah Palin's children were #2 on the mainstream media's list. In the #1 position was Sarah Palin's clothing.

BOR has been obamas little butt boy ever since he got that interview last year. He really pisses me off lately, just a matter of time before he’s at CNN.
