Understanding 'Angry Mobs'
The American Thinker ^ | September 15, 2009 | Mike Grady

Posted on 09/15/2009 3:38:14 AM PDT by Scanian

Liberals are having difficulty understanding the grass roots opposition to President Obama's plans for the government takeover of the health care industry, as well as the President's loss of support since his election. Equally disconcerting to liberals was the massive turnout on September 12th to protest a Federal government that is too big, too intrusive, and far too corrupt. As one who attended the September 12th rally at the Capitol, let me offer liberals the following explanation for what is happening.

Legendary football coach Vince Lombardi said, "Fatigue makes cowards out of all of us." And what are the American people these days if not fatigued? Bombarded with bad news from the 24-hour news cycle, is it any wonder that the American people are exhausted? Consider a few examples.

The last paragraph took the glaze from my eyes, but it is early isn’t it.

And if the American people dare to object, their own elected officials and broadcasters on the evening news label them Nazis, Brown Shirts, racists, and right-wing domestic terrorists. And the American people are shattered.

It's clear that we must raise the intellectual standards. We must limit our actions and language to standards long accepted by the MSM when they object to black Americans.

To nullify the racism argument

* Express your differences with the President while taunting him with Oreo cookies; thus your oppostion to his policies and positions will be noticed once the MSM see that you are not racist.

* Limit signs to things like "Barack Oreo," "Tyrants are white on the inside too," "House N*****" or the classic "traitor to your race" message.

Americans are told the H1N1 swine flu virus is coming and there is little they can do to protect themselves. And Americans are scared.

Scared? Let's see.....SARS, Legionnaires desease, Hantavirus, flesh eating bacteria, killer bees, fire ants, bird flu, holes in the ozone layer, global warming, fast food, and now swine flu. Scared no....fatigued from ignorant journalists....yes.

“Having difficulty” would imply that they want to understand or care what the people think. They don’t on either count.

Mike Grady is on to something. I never read his work before but will follow his articles on the American Thinker from now on.

NOTE: He writes about angry citizens, not lawless hordes. That distinction is often lost on both the Liberal Establishment(including Hollywood) and the so called MSM.

What often goes unsaid but is true without any argument is this:

In virtually every one of the tea parties all across the country starting April 15, 2009, and including this recent massive one in DC, no property of any kind (public or private) was destroyed or desecrated. No Law enforcement personnel were threatened with violence, injured or killed.

What we say over and over is responsible citizens voicing there positions, thoughts a heart felt anger at a government out of control. However, at no time were the demonstrators out of control even when taunted by counter demonstrators or the so called MSM.

I am proud of them as all American should be.

You’re absolutely right. I was in DC on Saturday, and the group was determined and angry, but civil, mutually supportive, and respectful of our nation’s capitol. While leaving the gathering area to board my bus, I saw only one piece of litter (which I picked up). We enjoyed the company of like-minded people, laughed, talked, cheered and went home energized. Core American values still hold.

You’re right. I’ve been brawling with a bunch of stupid libs on the comments board for our local news rag. They are entirely clueless as to what motivates Conservatives and Libertarians. Moreover, being good Leninists, they cannot fathom that we can band together on our own at the grassroots level without having someone “organizing” us or giving us “orders” from above, which is how they operate.

Consequently, when I try to explain this to them, they always come back at me with the weak jab of being a “Rushbot,” when in fact they are merely projecting unto me their own modus operandi as to how they are the real drones taking orders from their leftwing masters.

Low-life drive-by journalists simply project the typical actions of anti-war and leftist demonstrators onto the tea parties.

The post-demonstration inspection revealed zero arrests and streets that were left cleaner thatn the protestors found them.

Same here. Libs are the same everywhere. Just as intellectually vacant. Each one of them says the same things, repeats the same lies... yellowcake, etc. They are such two-dimensional thinkers and so ignorant of so much basic philosophy that arguing is a total waste of energy. They don’t understand what a “looter” is or where the term comes from. Mention Rand or Hayek and they get confused. I’ve never seen so many completely uneducated people who believe they know everything.

It’s amazing, isn’t it,

that libs are usually the ones that claim
that they are the “free thinkers”.

Every single one of them thinks that he
is generally intellectually superior than
anyone else who doesn’t share his elitist
worldview.

But, they all parrot the same lines, hold
the same mythical viewpoints, based on lies
and not on reality.

Truly captives of hollow and deceptive philosophies
of this world and the prince of this world. (Col 2:8)

An angry mob in defense of liberty is no vice. King George considered the founding fathers just an angry mob.
