Conserved Noncoding Elements: More Contradictory Genetic Data (another evo prediction falsified!)
Uncommon Descent ^ | September 13, 2009 | Cornelius Hunter, Ph.D.

Thousands of DNA segments have been found to be nearly identical across a wide range of species including human, mouse, rat, dog, chicken and fish.

--snip--

It is yet another pattern that is the opposite of what evolution expected...

As usual, someone with no knowledge of TToE expounds on what it expects or does not say (TToE makes no such conclusion as the opening states).

As always with your BatBoy pulps, the premise is flawed, rendering the article moot.

Dr. Hunter knows more about the TToE in his little finger than most evos will know in their whole life. As for your comment that the evos did not predict that the greater the distance between species, the greater the differences in their genomes: Talk is cheap, prove it.

TToE not only posits but demands identical DNA — the fact drift may not be precisely where the theory targets (an assertion) is merely interesting, not undercutting in any way, even if accurate.

The fact anyone posts in a journal dedicated to ID disqualifies him/her as a scientist out of thee gate. You might as well quote an astrologer.

I know that’s your evo-religious belief, but besides your blind faith that the Temple of Darwin is always correct, where is your evidence that Dr. Hunter is incorrect that your fellow Darwin drones got this one wrong?

Well, we know they’re not tied up at Church! Perhaps they’re nursing a hangover :o)

Clearly you don’t understand what I said, so not much point in addressing you or your astrologer.

So, readers, just know that this type of post represents an extremely tiny (by number and gray matter measure) minority.

They are invested in ID out of a combination of the need to be “important” and a need to be noticed (like a 12 year old who learns to cuss).

As long as those of us who do know science keep an eye on them there is nothing to worry about.

I see (as per usual) you're projecting again. Surely you have been following my posts long enough to know that it is a documented fact that the Evos are one of the most superstitious groupings in the country? Here's a little refresher for you, in case you have forgotten :o)

The good Dr. Hunter is full of poop. His argument is as specious as saying that because the same words and letters appear in both the US Constitution and the Communist Manifesto refutes the independent authorship of both.

Bull. When results like these were announced years ago, the scientists hearing the results did respond with anything indicating expectation. Those areas were called "ultraconserved". Those terms mean something.

LOL...both the Communist Manifesto and the US Constitution were written by INTELLIGENT DESIGNERS!

"both the Communist Manifesto and the US Constitution were written by INTELLIGENT DESIGNERS!"

Exactly my point. And they were written using the construct and process of a written language.

Indeed, when these long, nearly identical sequences were found to be shared between species that the evos believed were separated by up to hundreds of millions of years, they were more than just a little surprised. Indeed, if you click on Dr. Hunter’s first link, one of the evo scientists exclaimed that this unexpected result was such a shock that she nearly fell out of her chair!

OK, I’ll bite, what do you think this proves? We are talking about huge numbers of non-coding DNA between supposedly distant species, separated by up to hundreds of millions of years, that have nearly identical sequences. Are the Evos finally admitting that they believe in miracles?
