former chief fundraiser for ex-Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich Christopher Kelly has died today at the age of 51. No details are available yet, but Chicago Times writes that apparently the death was caused by an Aspirin overdose.
Rod Blagojevich, who is in NY and not available for comments, released a statement about the death of Christopher Kelly and wrote the following. "I am deeply saddened to hear that Chris has died. My heart goes out to his wife Carmen, his three daughters Grace, Jacqueline and Claire and his entire family. They are in our prayers."
Blagojevich was arrested on federal corruption charges in December and removed from the post of Illinois governor. Christopher Kelly was also under indictment in Blagojevich case.
It was just on September eight that Christopher Kelly pleaded guilty to federal charges. This was the second time he did so this year.
"In a surprise move just a day before his scheduled trial, Kelly, owner of a roofing business, pleaded guilty to two counts of mail fraud as part of a kickback scheme to illegally obtain $8.5 million in work at O'Hare International Airport. The last-minute deal with prosecutors would appear to ratchet up the pressure on Kelly, 51, to testify against Blagojevich, but his written plea agreement made no mention of any such cooperation," writes Chicago Tribune.
With his deal with the authorities Chris Kelly agreed to forfeit $450,000, the amount he pocketed.
Chicago Sun-Times writes that Kelly died of an apparent Aspirin overdose. "Kelly was found at 7:01 a.m. by his family, according to a report given to the Cook County Medical Examiner. He was pronounced dead at 10:46 a.m., sources said. Kelly died of an apparent "aspirin overdose," a law enforcement source said.
“aspirin overdose,”
How very ......... Clintonian.
Who OD’s on aspirin??
great post
as the Baraqqi stampede bogs down, expect more unfortunate deaths
How much asprin do you have to take?
Several decades ago...I tried. Didn’t know how to get the illegal stuff and didn’t have the money if I did. Took several bottles aspirin apparently didn’t take enough, nor could I keep it down. If I had been successful it would have been days before anybody would have even bothered to look for me.
I was trying to find that out - did find that there is a 2% mortality rate associated with acute aspirin overdoes - iow, it doesn’t happen too often.
Clinton era all over again. I expect the same for The One as I did for Clinton... nothing will ever come of it, but you guys are right, I expect more deaths as he becomes more desperate.
The Chicago way....
Everyone involved with the Obama bc trials needs to be extra vigilant.
Nothing fishy about this at all.
After the Clintons and Arkancide I started wondering if the C.I.A., F.B.I. or whatever freakin federal agency like the N.S.A. was responsible for covering up the ‘ Indiscreations”
of folks like Bill Clinton and this Daley mob machine product.
Q."...How much asprin do you have to take?..."
A.Doesn't matter, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it...!
It has them bringing him in the hospital from a lumber yard parking lot. He owed much in gambling debts and #12 on my thread said:
He didnt commit suicide.
He was forced to take a bunch of aspirin, then repeatedly punched in the stomach (causing internal bleeding).
He owed the LV gambling casinos a bunch of money, and wasnt going to be able to pay up.
The Mob did what they always do.

If he owed the Mob money, it may have been lucky for Blago, but that will get you every time...
I come up with an LD50 of 1750 mg/kg. Figure 100x1750 mg for a 220 pound man, in 50% of cases. That is a lot of little tablets!
Asprin overdose? Sure....if the headache was caused by two shots of a .22 pistol (behind the right ear).
I’ve been wondering why this hasn’t been called a suicide, and why he would use such a drug to do this, there are better ways to do away with yourself...
be that as it may naturally I come here first to get the real scoop on things, this place has a wealth of good minds.
Thanks again, FReepers:)
Who says Obama doesn't have any death panels?
