I was near the front of the parade, because the bus driver knew he could not get anywhere near the start off point.
Our group did not walk the entire route, starting off around 11:15 even at that by the time we got to the Capitol, the front section was full and so was the right side of the capitol lawn. We found ourselves on the left side of the lawn in the grove of trees. There was no chance of getting any closer.
This photo was near the official beginning of the parade, Dick Armey was in this block of marchers.

Here is the Viking Red Neck he hailed from Norway but now is a citizen (legally) of the US and member of the 9-12 Project. I mentioned FR he knows of us.
I didn't get this fellows name but I liked his style.
This little girl when asked to smile for us showed us that she could use two front teeth for Christmas. She was a real cutie.
We met these folks right before leaving. We had our first provoking liberal right after this photo was taken. She began to shout, "Health care for all" We chanted back at her, "Put it on your tab." Some guy at the stop light shouted out at her, "You are going to need health care with that fat a**.

"he demonstration dwarfed a rally held by Mr Obama in Minneapolis, Minnesota at which he promised to drive through reform with or without Republican support. 'I will not accept the status quo,' he declared."We will not see anything this fair and balanced in the mass media. Cheers, Brits!

I want a credible estimate of the crowd by an objective third party with expertise and/or experience in estimating crowds.
To: cake_crumb; Jeff Head
If you use the "crowd estimator" posted on Michelle Malkin's site and you compare the size of the crowd gathered on the west lawn, spilling over to the Grant memorial, and milling about the mall area, 250-300K seems like a decent estimate. I left at about 2 p.m. and the crowd was not that deep into the mall area.
Really, though, it doesn't matter. Our march was a HUGE success!! I don't want to argue about it . . . but I will say one more thing: The DC Police don't do crowd estimates. At all. As I was walking out I asked one (who was standing with the officer who did the orientation that morning with us volunteers) and they both said, "It is our policy to not estimate crowd sizes." But it WAS much bigger than they were prepared for. The one DC Policeman chuckled, "I'll tell you this: there's more than one person here." :o)
