For every one not there (or in other protests around the country) there were 25 more who wanted to be.My sentiments exactly. Many of my friends couldn't go because they had to WORK! So, I told them that if they make a donation to Freedom Works to help with the rally expenses, I would "take them with me". They did and I took them with me, in the form of a picture of each one of them attached to my sign. We donated $500 to the cause and they were right there with me marching down Pennsylvania Ave and standing in the shadow of the Capitol Dome. I dubbed them my "Back-Home Backers"!

Impressive! Seems like the only larger turnout in recent memory was for the illegal alien cinquo de mayo (aka ‘invasion day’) celebrations.

To guage the crowd in DC it might be worthwhile to watch the ridership reports on the Metro and compare them to workdays, other events, and peak tourist times such as the Cherry Blossom Festival.
Reports for Saturday have not been published, but they should be posted to this page within a few days: http://www.wmata.com/rail/disruption_reports/archived_service_reports.cfm

There may not have been a million at the time you were there at the Lincoln Memorial...but the crowd stretching to the Captol in the 1st picture, IMHO, tells a different story. Couple that with what was said in post 104, and I believe that million is not out of bounds in the least for the number of those who came to Washington yesterday for these protests.

That's a long ways, full of people, and you do not even see the end of it there.

I still think more people should have come to DC, although the final count had to make some impression on our public serpents. The greater the number of people out in the streets, the lower the chances of our public serpents deciding to kill us off.

When Jimmy Carter ran down America during his presidency...Even in the Carter era, there was some economic deregulation. There doesn't seem to be any sign of that with this bunch.

why werent people allowed on the actual Mall between the Capitol and Washington Momument? There was some Black Family Reunion event in progress on part of the Mall. Us "evil-mongers" did have free reign of the mall closer in to the Capitol.
