Yesterday's 9-12 Project and the local Tea Party rallies were roaring successes. The Tea Parties are much more effective at voicing opposition to Obama's policies than the hapless GOP leadership in Congress. With the success of the Tea Parties, it will be only a matter of time before GOP politicians and especially potential 2012 candidates to attempt to make the Tea Parties as their own. Mitt Romney is a man who might try to "buy" the Tea Party movement. With his vast wealth, Romney could open his wallet and fund Tea Party rallies across the country until 2012. Under such a scenerio, the Tea Party organizers wouldn't have to worry about raising money for rallies.
Big Questions: If Romney gave generous donations to the Tea Party movement, does this entitle him to conservative support?
In the voice of Dr. Evil, “Uh, how about NO, ya oily-headed bastard!”
You can’t buy conviction.
1) He hasn’t
2) He won’t
3) No
They better. We need to first take back the Republican Party from the RINOS. RINOS are getting the message. You will face primary challenges. They are going to have to move our way. Squeaky hinges get the oil. For years the taxtakers have been squeaking. Now it is the TAXPAYERS turn.
If Bill Clinton gave money to fund the Tea Party Movement to weaken O and set up a dhimmicrat primary challenge would that entitle him to conservative support?
Both questions are asinine. Conservative support can’t be bought because conservatism is a core value. Romney is not a conservative ergo he does not deserve conservative support simply because he opens his wallet.
I mean this in the nicest possible way,
Are you out of your MIND?!?!
I don’t care what Mitt does with his money- and the answer is HELL, NO!
It should be apparent by now that the great majority of tea party folks are not for sale.
NO and HECK NO! The Tea Party movement belongs to WE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!!!!
I doubt it. Anyway, deep down, Romney is more of the same; and, it would be a mistake to allow him to take over the movement.
The worst stinking RINOs: Juan Pedro McCain, Graham-nesty, Collins, Snowe.
Yes but they will have to move in our direction. McClame is about the worst. I expect him to soon try to rescue Obama from the health care debacle.
Yup - Mitt blew it. Sad. He has talked about Reagan but in action he is closer to stinking McCain.
Mitt could have been somebody to paraphrase Brando in “On The Waterfront.”
Not even remotely possible. Romney is not even viewed as a Conservative and he should never again be in the running on the Republican side. In fact, best for him to save his money and exit politics for good.
A truly grassroots movement funds itself. This is a true grassroots movement, very powerful.
As for leadership, I expect we will see new leaders emerge from these Tea Parties. There are many awakened, fire in the belly, citizens out there ready to take on the challenge.
Our future looks promising.
Something is happening here and you don't know what it is, do you, Mr. Jones?
If Mitt Romney purchased the tea party movement they wouldn’t need as many busses.
Thats why they elected him..
because there is something wrong with the people of Mass..
