Oh the irony. Someone won't get Obama healthcare unless they prove CITIZENSHIP. Oh the irony. The question, as we all know, arises from the Wilson "You lie" outburst, and the core claim that notwithstanding specific bill language barring illegal immigrants from participating in the "exchange," as a practical matter, there is no way of verifying the citizenship of applicants -- which is the current state of play.

I find it very interesting that they are going to allow private insurance companies to continue to exist, but they are going to force changes to their business practices by making companies drop caps and pre-existing conditions.

My guess is that private carriers currently have caps and restrictions against pre-existing conditions because they could not continue to remain in business bled dry by runaway costs.

The government merely wants to add competition to the market, but mortally wounds the private insurance companies (using force the government wields at ultimately the point of a gun) to ensure their failure.

From one perspective the plan has moments of pure brilliance in its subversion and misdirection, but that is just cover for the real truth that will ultimately devastate the US economy, and worse, Freedom. Tell me again how this is Constitutional?

Obama ??? where is your " Proof of Citizenship " as the good judge will be asking you soon to provide in the court case going on.

Joe Wilson unknowingly with his belief in the American values, and convictions shouting " YOU LIE " of Obama's lie of not forcing the tax payers to pay for illegals health cost and could very well have unwittingly forced Obama to clarify what is a illegal alien with the very person who has to clarify this the one who's own citizen status is in question.

I wrote these down as points because every article I read, every blurb I see on TV is followed up by some hack liberal whop wants to point a finger at conservatives and ask " are you the devil? We just want people to feel good and be healthy".

I'm so set back at the string of blatant lies being told by this group of individuals. Even more jaw-dropping is how obama supporters breeze right over these HUGE and detrimental lies without even giving it a thought.

As you can see, most of my points are in regards to coverage for illegals, which is the topic of this thread.

I know, sometimes by mind wanders and I did get off topic a bit on a couple of points, but eventually it all bleeds together relating to this entire mess.

The real message is being cloaked by claims of creating competition in the market, just as you said. How can any real conservative stand up and say "I am opposed" when it comes to free market competition? We do live by the live and let die philosophy when it comes to such ideals in economics. Difference is, the competition will be injected into the market with subsidized funds using tax money stolen from a population that wants nothing to do with it. We have laws that prohibit this kind of business practice, it's called dumping in the private market. Many companies have paid a high price in fines for getting caught doing this even on a small scale with intent to cripple their competitors. When said company is the federal government who isn't even planning on making a profit, the risk factor goes up dramatically for the private businesses who will be trying to compete with it.

The entire goal of these laws is to stop the guy with the biggest cash pot from wiping out competition in the market which leads to zero choice for the consumer, not these vast pools of options to choose from as the president keeps trying to sell to us.

... so this is what it boils down to in the end. this president and the crazy leftists he calls his minions are grabbing for control. I can think of no other reason for the behavior patters I see. They do not believe in free market principles and they honestly think they ca somehow run our core businesses better than the private sector.

What we need to build outside/attached to ERooms are satelitte clinics to siphon off those NOT in need of ER treatments. Triage them & make them wait until they can be seen but leave the ER ready for true emergencies

IMHO, it will be impossible for any private insurance company to survive. To even begin to pay for this ponzi scheme zero will need small business, big business, everyone who creates a thin nickel to kick in.

That means anyone who now has insurance in order to keep what they have will have to pay for what they already have plus the new creation.

Few can afford to do both.
