Please post your updates from D.C. and from news reports here as well as your photos of the day.
Our Walter Reed salute to the troops last night was very well attended. Upwards of 800 people were there over the three-plus hours of the demonstration.
Photos and video taken by This Ain'tHell taken in daylight before the bulk of the crowd showed can be viewed here.

The purpose of Dont Flush U.S. is to draw attention to those individuals, policies and taxes that we feel are particularly stinky. For example, politicians who promote the Carbon Tax (e.g. Cap and Trade) know full well that it is extortion of the American public and a power grab.
People who think that government is the answer, and that social contract means a bigger nanny government which will ultimately constrict liberty, free enterprise and the United States as we know it, are also eligible for a throne on the Dont Flush U.S. site. We dont discriminate between political parties, gender, ethnicity or race. We think thats fair.

I saw two on the news from today's rally: Charlie Rangel and Patty Murray ........... ROFL!
You can apparently buy one and put the name of your choice at the site above for Tea Parties, etc. How hysterical .. what an appropriate and FABULOUS idea.
How many people do you think there was here in total?
Nope..but there are a few that were archived because they were still showing up in the thread after other pics were timed out. They will show up. There is a YouTube video floating around with the Traffic cam crowds time lapsed.
which makes this shot odd as it is on the capitol side of the water where the other shot is on the far side of the water on the mall...
That doesn’t look like a photo from today, at least not to me. I only say that because today there were people covering the front lawn of the Capitol building in front of the reflecting pool, and also all around the sides and to the back. I don’t see any people there in this photo. Again, I could be wrong since I don’t know when that photo was taken.
I’m sure it was just a coincidence. /sarcasm
They don’t have adequate tax dollars to keep them up and running. /more sarcasm
He didn’t cover all the great speeches
from the stage ... I watched it all on
Cspan. Have to say, excluding the absence
of long/aerial and crowd overview shots, it
was really excellent.
Did you get to go?
He doesn't wake up until Sunday night.
To clarify, the 3rd pic is from today?
I was at Walter Reed last night also. Met quite a few good folks, and spotted a few freepers as well. Didn't get to introduce myself or have any lengthy conversations but I was happy to see a good-sized, enthusiastic crowd there as well. I think that the injured soldiers and their friends and families were also quite pleased!
I'm in the process of uploading some video to the local news outlets - amateur stuff, of course. Then, I will start to sift through the hundreds of images that I've taken this weekend.
What a ride!! It has been a short, invigorating, and successful weekend!
FOAD, troll.
There’s a video of the FreedomWorks Rally on the Mall here:

Hmm..
*sniff*
Yup.
Thought so.
You can watch this on your computer by going to c-span.
We did! lol. DH and I even left early to try to beat the crowd and finally gave up trying to get on and so took a cab! That may not sound like a huge deal to anyone else, but my husband would never cough up the cash to pay for a cab if the wait hadn't been absolutely ridiculous.
