This decision seems quick - for two stories about (according to the MSM) low-level ACORN workers. More to come?

Yes - enough people have gotten so FED UP with the corruption in ACORN that they've been compiling information FOR MONTHS. It will be a steady drip until the sink overflows. It MUST remain a steady drip, or all of this will soon be dismissed as "isolated incidences" ...

Sadly the MSM have been BLIND on this, forcing ordinary citizens to do it instead! The FBI has been mostly blind, too. These citizen investigations may not hold up in front of a judge in the short term. For now, this is in the court of Public Opinion and public opinion is cementing - ACORN is criminal trash.

In the days and weeks ahead, we will see the massive corruption that is ACORN, and how OBAMA and the Dems are tied to ACORN. We here at Free Republic need to ASSIST with that cognitive connection - I'm sure we're quite up to the task.

Like Glenn has been hammering - Obama and the Democrats will throw ACORN under the bus, like disposable people. They will claim that ACORN does some good work. The politicians and leaders of ACORN will ATTEMPT to morph ACORN into a NEW organization as has been in decades past. That is not good enough and cannot be allowed to happen - ACORN leadership and political beneficiaries must be the target of the eventual CRIMINAL investigations!

ACORN must be CUT OUT like the CANCER it is, so America will NOT go into ACORN remission.

Anything that ACORN has touched is up for re-evaluation - ANYTHING.

My point is, no crime was actually committed. You couldn't even get them for conspiracy because you know the filmakers weren't about to commit a crime.

Criminality needs two components: mens rea, the intent to commit a crime and mens acta, the act of committing the crime. While the first was there when the ACORN employees set out the plan, it was not carried out, and certainly the filmakers had neither in mind.

The most I figure you could get them on is the unlicensed practice of law.

Unfortunately, the only court is the court of public opinion. Also, I read here tonight that the State of Maryland might prosecute the filmakers because under Marland law both parties must consent to being recorded. Imagine that; you can give advice on how to start and hide a prostitution ring with underage illegal immigrants but don’t dare record the conversation. The filmakers are apparently looking at 5 yrs hard time.

I have a feeling that ACORN’s tentacles stretch pretty far and wide enough that they will still have input as to how many illegals and Mickey Mouse’s get counted in states that lost population.
There are companies that funnel money through different subsidiaries that go through non profits that get money from grants that finagle cash from the government and divert it to ACORN anyway.

They’ll get the money and they’ll supply the cons and illegal labor to count the populace from the convenience stores, crack dens and homeless shelters. They will eff-up this country for a generation.

NO, I'm high — hee hee. On Cloud Nine ... let me explain:

First, I heard about this ACORN-Census story BEFORE dinner and I was already excited. I beamed a sh!t-eating grin on the drive to our favorite eatery, as I analyzed the potential repercussions in my head!

Then, in a very crowded restaurant, my family and I were surprised to hear some of the table talk around us:
"No, son — if you know someone's a liar, you call them a liar"
"... they're as corrupt as FREDDIE MAC and FANNIE MAE!"
"... how's Obama going to pay for that health care plan of his, anyway?"

... and when glancing at the TV in the bar area of the restaurant, I saw freakin' CNN talking about the ACORN prostitution stories! Perma-grin! :))

But for dessert - ah - my middle-school daughter told me that because her school did NOT show Obama's Tuesday speech live, the principal thought it fair to "offer" it to any kid who wished to watch it today. The students were required to get permission from their parents to see the speech. Out of 25 kids in her 5th period Science class, only ONE had permission to see Obama's re-televised student speech - which he did, as I understand - rather grudgingly!

So, yeah — this Friday night, I'm smokin' a BIG FReeper doobie — rolled with slow-burning Obama zig-zags :)
