House Plans to Admonish Rep. Wilson Over Insult
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Published: September 11, 2009
WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Democratic leaders are planning a House vote early next week on whether to admonish Republican Rep. Joe Wilson if he does not apologize on the House floor for yelling ''You lie!'' during President Barack Obama's health care address.
Brendan Daly, a spokesman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, said Friday that party leaders decided they will likely move forward with a resolution of disapproval against Wilson if he doesn't apologize to Congress.
Wilson told Obama he was sorry shortly after the incident on Wednesday, but has refused requests to apologize on the House floor. Wilson's office says the congressman considers his initial apology sufficient. He has also been telling supporters he will continue to speak loudly about the issue and ''not be muzzled.''
Obama said Thursday he accepted Wilson's apology, telling reporters that ''we all make mistakes.'' The White House said it considered the incident over, and Pelosi, D-Calif., initially agreed, saying she wanted to focus on moving health care legislation forward.
But many Democrats remain angry with Wilson's insult and have pressed for further action. They say the insult clearly violated House rules.
While voicing public contrition, Wilson, meanwhile, has taken a more combative tone behind the scenes.

thats a badge of honor....
He needs to call her bluff.
Congress has nothing better to do?
OR, he could go with the demonrat style of apology:
I apologize IF anyone was offended...blah - blah - blah...
He shouldn’t apologize until Botox Nancy apologizes for all the insults she’s hurled at Dubya.

"I am sorry that I was so overcome by my revulsion at the President's lies that I momentarily lost my judgement and breached the etiquette of Congress. Those Democrats who booed George Bush at his joint session speech can cerainly understand how I feel, and I beg their indulgence. I sincerely apologize for the breach or etiquette.
"That said, I again state for the record that President Obama is lying when he says . . . etc. etc. etc."
Making an apology from the floor of the House this way would be a PR coup for Wilson, and I hope he doesn't miss the opportunity, for all our sakes.
As my 8 year old says, "Ouchy".
Right after that they’ll get to punish Charlie Rangel
In the words of Dick Cheney to leakey Laehy, F... You. If Wilson is guilty of anything, it is trying to communicate with Democrats at their level.
How dare they say he lied?.....
STUFF IT, PELOSI!....
He should apologize as soon as the Democrat caucus apologizes for booing Bush in 2005.
Bring it!
“I apologize if anyone was offended by my statement!”
;-)
Shove it Nancy. You get an apology as soon as you get down on your knees and beg W to forgive you for all the vile things you said about him.
Joe speaks for me. No apology for telling the truth.
