Dear Joe - Time to respond and end this Tempest in a Tea Cup...
Vanity | Today | Jess Duntno

Posted on 09/10/2009 3:53:46 PM PDT by jessduntno

You know, it might be a quaint old idea coming from a mid-century antique, but where I come from, when you screw up (which in this case is more of a wow-did-I-say-that-out-loud moment of real, genuine passion by a Patriot) you usually do the following;

1. Apologize

2. Use no weasel words

3. Move on.

You've done that Joe. In spades.

Just as important as a clean and gentlemanly apology, however, is the fact that you really do expect the other guy to do the right thing...if he accepts the apology...and just let it go. But that isn't happening.

This is not the case with the either "the other guy" our dear leader, or his dimwitted side-kick, Slow Joe Biden, who between them have been on every media outlet in the universe "deploring" this breach of etiquette. Which, really Joe, was seen by most of us as more a momentary lapse of self control, but OK, let's even go along with that "breach of etiquette" screed.

Now, putting aside that you, Joe Wilson, were telling the truth, I think it is time for you to get off your knees. Time to say to the demented Marxists, essentially, "Why don't you act like men instead of petulant children? The apology was offered, was accepted, but you won't let it go. Even on the schoolyard, there is no tolerance for that kind of pettiness."

The two wounded leftists continue to be all "Wee-Wee'd Up" (I now understand the expression, sadly) and clearly will not let it go like men.

So, thanks for the truth, Joe. And thanks for being a guy who obviously has the right stuff. And thanks for showing that there are still men who can make a "clean" apology.

But seriously, Joe, being apologetic is one thing, but there is a fine line between apologetic and being a door mat for these boys.

If this doesn't stop immediately, I think you should tell them it is time to grow up. Then they can take the advice or show more of their true colors and look like what they are...a couple of petty tyrants.

Just my humble opinion...I think the way this is being played out can be turned on its head pretty quickly by a gentle reminder that you can try to be a gentleman, and try to respect others, but if you are not treated in kind, you need to insist on it. Enough is enough.

This is a war, not a garden party.

“This is a war, not a garden party.”

Yep...we are now looking like we are walking softly and carrying nothing...

Are Zero and Joe really making a big fuss about it? If so, GOOD. More people will learn about it.

The socialist/marxist/commie DINOS (dems in name only) are playing this for all it’s worth.

Because it’s all they’ve got.

Even THEY aren’t saying that Wilson’s words were incorrect. Only that it wasn’t the proper place to say them.

I went to a garden party to reminisce with my old friends
A chance to share old memories and play our songs again
When I got to the garden party, they all knew my name
No one recognized me, I didn’t look the same

But it’s all right now, I learned my lesson well.
You see, ya can’t please everyone, so ya got to please yourself

For the first time in my life a true statement was uttered in Congress by a Congressman.

I am in awe.

And I want Joe Wilson's campaign fund address.

Maybe we can call the resistance "Joe Wilson's War"

I submit that the better strategy would be to ignore the continuing attacks on the inappropriateness of his comment, and instead shift the discussion to the liar and his lies.

Flanking maneuver > frontal assault quagmire.

He seized control of the debate last night. Don’t let the momentum slip away.

I was raised to be polite until it is the moment comes to quit being polite. A close friend of mines father was a wise man and a child psychiatrist, we were talking about fighting one day. He said, “that nobody should go around starting fights for that would indicate a disturbed individual, but someone who doesn't fight back when they should is even more disturbed.” He also pointed out that not fighting back is a disservice to not only yourself, but to those around you and even to the one pushing you. Situations often deteriorate if left unchallenged.p>

No, it's not. I screwed up, badly. To all my fellow FReepers: It's Joe Wilson for Congress, not Joe Wilson for Senate. One is in South Carolina, one is in North Carolina. I contributed to the wrong one. Fellow FReepers, please don't make the same mistake. Fortunately (for me), the other one is also a conservative. My apologies.
