SAVAGE is BANNED from the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA!

Posted on 09/10/2009 9:21:39 AM PDT by ggrrrrr23456

Just heard on Savage's home radio station, 910 KNEW, that they will be dropping his 3PM to 6PM PST slot in favor of the Armstrong and Getty show!

I am interested to see what his reaction will be to this one...

First banned in Britain, and now in his own hometown???

He is not banned, he just doesn’t deliver the audience and advertising revenue. If you really believe in free enterprise you would understand.

The e-mail I received from KNEW said he was being replaced by the John & Ken show out of L.A. These are talented guys but I’ll just listen to Savage on KSTE out of Sacramento which can be received throughout much of the SF Bay Area.

That would be “John and Ken” (?) from 3-7 according to the website.

I’ve never seen a station jack their schedule around as often as these guys do. I think they do it at least twice every year.

He is not banned. It's a business choice. Good grief. The station will go who brings the biggest audience.

I agree. It is not banning.

We lost Larry Elder here in LA but it was a programming decision.

if he gets good ratings someone will pick him up. That’s not exactly what I call a ban.

If the radio station makes a business decision it is not a ban.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
If the decision is a result of FCC pressure, then it is a ban.

That’s what it sounds like to me. Savage while right about a lot of things, is hard to listen to without slashing your own wrists.

They confused Bush getting thrown out for tanking the stock market, for themselves being embraced as saviors. Acting on that false belief has tanked their support from 3/5ths of the people to 2/5ths - and the congressional Dems most directly concerned to under 1/10th.

None of it will stand. They can govern center or they can be thrown out, their call. The American people will not support communism, and remain entirely sovereign in the matter.

He’s been no.1 in drive time ratings for men and women over 18 in the Bay Area for 12 to 14 years. I doubt they will do better without him.

They’re also getting a syndicated show from Bill Handel. Sounds like they’re becoming KFI North.

Amazing how few of these people can put 2 and 2 together, eh?

I’m not a big Savage fan myself. I caught him not being honest in his analysis of something (forgot what) and that soured me on him forever. But one wonders if their license was up for renewal and if Mark Lloyd was involved.

Are people going to start saying that Rush and Glenn Beck suck and don’t bring in the numbers when the same thing starts happening to them?

You guys are wrong. The station admits it had nothing to do with business. They said it's about philosophy and ideology:

Here's your no-spin direct answer; we have decided to go in a different philosophical and ideological direction, featuring more contemporary content and more local information. The Savage Nation does not fit into that vision.

I think that’s the first thing I’ve read from you that I agree with! :)

Obama is looking less and less like Jimmy Carter and more and more like the Herbert Hoover of the left: the catalyst that will usher in real change and reform, this time for the better, leaving leftists in the weeds for a generation.

Let San Francisco fall into the ocean, it’s so Sodom and Gomorrah nowadays it isn’t even funny.

If God ever decides to give the world an enema, he will insert it in San Francisco.

“featuring more contemporary content and more local information.

That has Mark Lloyd written all over it.

A radio station can not ban anybody from a city. Good decision, bad decision, leaned-on-by somebody decision doesn’t change that it was their decision for their station. Not banned from San Francisco.
