Joe Wilson's 15 minutes of infamy notwithstanding, Democrats were pretty rough on George W. Bush during a joint sessions a few years back.
Two examples:
In 2004, Democrats delivered a “Chorus Of Boos” during Bush's Bush’s State Of The Union when he called for renewal of the Patriot Act., according to the Washington Times.
In 2005, Dems howled, hissed and shouted "No!" when Bush pushed for Social Security reform in the SOU: "Foreshadowing the contentiousness of the coming debate, Democrats broke decorum and booed twice," according to the National Journal.
At the time, CNN's Bill Schneider remarked, “It was unusual. I had never heard it at least at that level before. The Democrats clearly were booing, heckling, saying no when the president talked about the crisis in Social Security."
Moreover, Obama's claim that illegal immigrants won't be covered -- which sparked Wilson's outburst -- while technically accurate, doesn't quite tell the entire story. Some of the bills being considered in the House and Senate contain provisions locking in local statutes that prevent providers from inquiring about immigration status prior to treatment. And illegals are treated, and are bound to be treated, in ERs, covered by local, state and federal uninsured pools.
So why the outcry over Wilson?

I agree. If I had said it I would stick with it. I only apologize on substance not “this not the venue for that”. Really? I listened to Barry O. calling everyone under the sun LIARS.
Do understand that? LIARS! Did he say people are misinformed? NOPE, YOU ARE a LIAR!
Did he say the bill is very long and complicated and it would be understandable if you couldn’t take it all in? NOPE... LIARS.
He called out, specifically, people in talk radio, on the web, certain news outlets and “even some in this room”sic(Senators) and pointedly told them they were involved in a campaign of misinformation and that THEY ARE LIARS.
So why would one apologize when the are being called a LIAR?
Is the Presidential Podium sacrosanct? Off Limits?

If Illegals aren't going to be covered then why did the House Committee vote to turn down the proposed amendment that would have made sure illegals weren't covered?
The Rats aren't fooling anyone and that's the only problem Obama is having.
Barack should be happy. This is the first “watercooler momenet” I can recall from an episode of The Obama Show on tv.

I think it's because Congressional Republicans have used the health care debate to vent a deeper, uglier contempt for Obama that verges on the personal.
Was this Thrush guy under a rock for 8 years? Where EVERYTHING directed at President Bush was 'personal'? What a freaking moron.
Actually, it showed class. Those words are going to resonate throughout the debate. They are going to be used in headlines and arguments. They are short and succinct and true. The simplicity of those two words will be remembered for years especially as the American people realize just what a liar 0 is.
As a result of the popularity of the letter, even in the English-speaking world, J'accuse! has become a common generic expression of outrage and accusation against a powerful person.
There was JUST as much opposition to Hillarycare back in 1993.

Actually, the SOTU is a report to the nation and I’d argue it deserves MORE respect. This was a purely partisan effort by Obama to use a joint session to peddle a program that (a) is losing and (b) is taking down him and his party in the process. It deserved no particular respect.
There is nothing wrong with telling the truth about the lying POS. Finally, at least one republican at least temporarily has the nads to say what many already know: BO is a democrat, democrats and the democrat party LIE! They have always lied to the public and they know it works because the GOP has no intestinal fortitude to even call a liar a liar.
Socialist revisionist history means never having to acknowledge the lessons of the past.
