~ EXCERPT ~
Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) apologized Wednesday night to White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel for shouting You lie! during President Obamas healthcare speech before a joint session of Congress.
Emanuel accepted Wilsons apology on behalf of the president, according to a Democratic source familiar with the call.
In addition to his phone call to Emanuel, Wilson also issued a statement separately, calling his comments inappropriate and regrettable.

Why don’t we just go the whole 9 yards and adopt SE Asia’s “when in doubt, fistfight!” legislative mentality?
His website seemed to be down the morning when I tried to send him an approving message and request how to make out a check to his re-election campaign.
It's refreshing to see that at least one person in the House Chamber last night still had a bullsh*t detector in working order. Sorta reminded me of Burl Ives playing Big Daddy in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof:
“What's that smell in this room? Didn't you notice it, Brick? Didn't you notice the powerful and obnoxious odor of mendacity in this room?”
Thank you, Rep. Wilson, for speaking truth to power instead of giving your ticket(s) to some screeching Code Pink b!tches the way a dim congress critter did when GWB was speaking.

F’in wimp.
Joe Wilson better watch out or Lindsey Graham will come slap him for misbehavior unbecoming of a lawmaker!
Did the Kenyan say anything about his “inappropriate and regrettable” comments that death panels and coverage for illegals was a lie?
Apparently, Wilson’s “How I Can Help The President” letter focused on the there “How I Can Embarrass The GOP By Indulging In An Infantile Outburst During A Presidential Speech”....
“inappropriate and regrettable”
and true
Proof once again that the Republicans only have one set of gonads among them. They’re allowed to occasionally check them out, but are always required to bring them back before midnight.
Joe Wilson did a GWBush.
That is, make a comment/action that angers his enemies.
Then following up with a comment/action that angers his friends.
Thus making everyone angry at him.
Small wonder the neo-Fascist Party kicked Repub butt in 2006 and 2008.
Dems excell at lies and election stealing.
Repubs excell at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Obama and the Dems lie routinely.
In fact, when Obama and the Dem leadership speak, I don’t even expect them to actually TELL the truth, anymore that to say just enough truth so that their lies are swallowed.
Stupid to apologize for a routine Dem tactic and obvious truth. Truly Repubs only get the “Anybody but a Dem” vote. Undeserving otherwise as Joe Wilson just demonstrated.
I am not governed by the rules of Congress, and Obama lied. Worse, he also said he won’t tolerate “misrepresentation”. What a farce! The Democrats are nuts if they think people will take this crap.
I’d have more respect for him if he didn’t apologize. Vote him out!
Quibbling over the politeness of a true, two-word shout-out seems a bit belated and bland, given the precipice upon which our republic hangs. I’m past worrying about minding my manners and making sure I and fellow conservatives conduct ourselves like whipped puppies in the presence of a belt-wielding master. Let’s hit the reset button: THEY ARE OUR EMPLOYEES AND REPRESENT US. They are not Saudi kings—yet—who merit a bow.
I don’t remember the incident so I don’t know who was involved, but I wonder if they wet their pants and apologized afterward?
In Washington, a gaffe is when someone accidentally tells the truth.
And Wilson made a huge gaffe.
Brilliant! Great strategy Joe. Pop Obamalamadingdong’s balloon on public tv where millions of viewers see and hear you, and then apologize later. Accomplishes the objective of deriding O’s statement and gives reasonable pretext at humility after-the-fact. Good job.
