Democratic U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek joined union workers Tuesday in blasting incoming Republican Sen. George LeMieux over his law firm's role in bringing in Mexican laborers to build a high-rise hotel and condominiums in Miami.
LeMieux is chairman of Gunster Yoakley, a Tallahassee-based firm that helped secure visas for the foreign workers who claimed they had skills lacked by their American counterparts at a time of rising unemployment. LeMieux said he wasn't involved in the case.
About a dozen sheet metal workers met with Meek at his Miami Gardens office. Most raised their hands when asked if they were unemployed.
"If you have folks coming in from a foreign country when there are people here who have to pay their bills and have to pay their taxes and are overlooked, that's something that we need to work on," Meek said.
He added: "Just because the governor decides to appoint his good friend and campaign manager to the U.S. Senate doesn't necessarily mean that we close our eyes on issues such as this."
Charlie Crist, RINO Extraordinairre, does it again!
Meeks and his mother before him have been screwing over American blacks in Miami for decades with illegal alien workers plus Haitians, Jamacians and others.
Yah, I know Meeks is a OBL.
Both parties are so crooked they smell rotten.
These union hacks get to experience the shoe on the other foot for a change.
Us non-union peons have been watching our wages get depressed by the illegals and guest workers for years now.

Secure the borders, round up and roust out the invaders.
There. My rant is over.
Since the illegals...um, imported workers, are building condos, maybe the union guys can pick citrus.
Rather than be hampered by union rules, regulations, pay, and literally extorting money to complete a job.....the Senator preferred to hire non-union labor at a decent wage, avoid all the hassles, and get the job in on time and on budget.
Where's the downside again?
"that helped secure visas for the foreign workers"
You have a problem with legal immigrants?

No.
But you seem to have a problem with reading.
Notice the illegal immigrants was followed by this: "...um, imported workers."
No problem with reading, just thought your lead comment showed your bias.
The US is bringing in over 130,000 LEGAL FOREIGN WORKERS A MONTH while our unemployment is at 9.7% and 15 million Americans are out of work. We need to cut back on legal immigration and guest worker programs. FYI: The black unemployment rate for August is 15.1%.
Oh. So, it's reading comprehension through the chip on your shoulder that's your problem where you envision things that do not exist.
Talk about bias!
I guess I didn’t make my point clear. I was trying to point out that equating legal immigrants with illegals doesn’t serve any purpose, other than to give ammunition to the amnesty types. Inflammatory comments, such as those by the inappropriately nicknamed N. Theknow, do us no good. Rather, they help marginalize our side by making us look like a bunch of xenophobes who are against immigration of any kind.
WRT your comment kabar, I agree with you, but combating unnecessary legal immigration is a different fight.
My first thought?......"How's that Union membership working out for you?"
THEN
Are these sheet metal workers union or non-union?........was my second thought.
True, but that doesn’t change the fact that Crist and his cronies are RINOs!
