“This evening I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the President’s remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill. While I disagree with the President’s statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the President for this lack of civility.”

That’s an excellent thing... It’s one thing to want to help your neighbors (as some think this will do). It’s a completely different thing to reward criminality...

I doubt it. Majority of people make decisions based on who they trust, not what’s in a 1000 page bill.

I have no problem with Joe Wilson calling him a liar, I just wish he took out an ad or said it in an interview or press conference. All those avenues would have been fine.

Yes, too much is at stake. Which is why it’s even more important that we fight this war with smarts and discipline. Would you want your generals to make made charges into the enemy without a plan?

If I recall it was 1/2 to three forths of the way through. It was when Obama started calling us liars for the so called death panels etc. Then he called us liars for saying illegals would be covered. He said "They will not be" That is when there was the outburst, from at the time an unknown to us.

The presidency is an elected office with powers that should be limited and used to preserve our freedoms instead of saving us from ourselves.

Excellent! I've been asking myself WTH does the Constitution give the Feds the power to do anything with Health Care? Other than regulate it, perhaps (over state lines?). There are already enough socialist programs in operation today, why add to the burden? We can't even pay for them.

Amen to that. Aside from this blunder, conservatives have lost faith in the Republican Party. Prior to the 2008 election, we found ourselves in a real quandary. Vote for McCain or stay home. Why? Because neither major party represented our values!

At some point after Obama is thrown out of office, the country should consider starting over with "coffee klatches" from sea to sea, the demand being to bring about term limits for Reps and Senators. The longer they are entrenched, I suspect the more dishonest they become.

It was indeed! Joe was upset as well which made it even better. This apology plays into the Alinsky tactic of making the enemy live by their own rules and high standards. In this case the libs demand civility, which is something they no little about. I appreciate the fact that Wilson acted on impulse, spoke the truth, and grabbed the headlines on Obummer’s big night.

I know that you doubt it... but you are looking at tonight through tunnel vision. If they are undecided and truly were motivated to listen tonight to come to some conclusion... and let us remember that even the slimes ran a front page critique on hussein speech number 16 on health care and determined that hussein had told many lies in that speech. It is in the archives here on FR. If these people really want to know the truth then all that they have to do is follow the story tomorrow... it will not be about decorum but it will be about the lies that a proved liar has spoken... and that liar is obama. It is unavoidable.

Now I really think that this speech was to all of the dims in that hall and their constituents... not some undecided people and certainly not Republican or Republican leaning citizens. It was all about salvaging his agenda, his presidency, his credibility and his mojo... and all that came out of this night at worst... was that some unknown Republican congressman had enough and yelled out the truth to power. That is the truth.
