Reid Says 90% Agreement on Health Care (Reid, Pelosi, Obama met for nearly an hour)
ABC News ^ | September 08, 2009 | Sunlen Miller

Posted on 09/08/2009 4:35:58 PM PDT by Baladas

ABC News' Sunlen Miller Reports: After emerging from a nearly hour meeting with the President, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said that there is now 90% agreement on the way forward for health care reform.

“Even before the August recess, 80 percent of health care is already done,” Reid said, “In our conversations today, we think we're up to 90 percent of things there are agreed upon. We have 10 percent that we need to work on, and we can do that.”

Pelosi and Reid sat down with the President and the Vice President for Oval Office this afternoon and emerged in front of reporters upbeat.

“The president and vice president were very positive,” Reid said, “And it's in keeping with the conversations I've had with my members the past week; that is, we're reenergized, we're ready to do health care reform.”

Pelosi said it is an exciting time and there is “plenty to work from” for the Finance Committee to act.

Reid said he, like the White House, has not seen a copy of Senator Baucus’s draft bill yet.

The Majority Leader said that they are working on the 10% areas of disagreement and said they are still approaching this in the form of bipartisanship but did not rule out reconciliation.

They want Republicans so they can weaken Republicans in the next election and strengthen themselves.

America doesn't want commiecare, deathcare, or whatevercare. They want choice not government intervention and power grab.

The Dems will pass this obomination at their own peril. They know it.

They won’t show any mortal the bill until Obama has signed it. Possibly not even then. It won’t go into effect until 2013 when Obama has orchestrated a second term.

Can we even count the number of times Reid, Pelosi, have said it is a go, then the next day it’s not, it’s a go it’s not....

Already, 23 Dems have said they will vote ‘no’ on healthcare reform

What did they do a sacrifice to the devil? They are insane.

McCain spoke out strongly against the public option just today (and co-ops as well which he said is the same thing). McCain sounded like he is strongly against any bill in the current form.

I don’t believe him either. 90%???? How can that be? Congress just got back in session today.

Liberals get more votes than others, and the Democrats are dominated by leftists.

Lenin called his little clique the “bolsheviks” which of course means “the majority”.

"90% agreement amongst the 30% that want the government Obama-care plan"

Maybe he meant 90% of Stretch, BO, himself, and the WH Czars & Czarinas.

Just heard about the obamski's getting ready to add 10-11 new seats to the circuit courts, including 4 seats to the 9th.

Guess that means that if deathcare gets passed, even if we get the congress back in 2010 and WH in 2012 there will be no way we'll ever get rid of deathcare peacefully.

“Republicans should campaign on REPEALING anything that gets passed.”

- They lack balls. And a brain stem. Did they repeal Social Security? Welfare? Affirmative action? Once a federal monstrosity is created, the beast is never killed without a full blown civil war/invasion/revolution.

Granted, the repubs would likely WIN big if they did campaign on such a thing..but one actually has to START campaigning..which they won’t.

I think they do have the votes other wise why even mention it? If they don't they come out looking pretty stupid and incompetent. They risk egg on their faces. So I sorta believe they do have the numbers to pass this stinker.

The public option is just part of the problem. The trouble with McCain is that he can speak out of both sides of his mouth, although that frequently isn’t necessary because he normally doesn’t know what he’s talking about to begin with. The only thing he is good at is being a useful idiot for the other side.

"I think they do have the votes other wise why even mention it?"

Fake it till you make it...

Or at least fake it until enough people like yourself believe it. When exactly has a Dem ever cared about egg?

Remember when this sorry excuse for an American couldn’t wait to get in front of the press and announce breathlessly that “we killed the Patriot Act”. Didn’t happen. Obamacare is stillborn.

“If they don’t they come out looking pretty stupid and incompetent.”

- Never put it past the Dems to smush more eggs into their own faces.

I’m waiting for the day when they will exchange eggs for cow patties. That will be a hoot (though admittedly not for anyone within 10 feet of them)

They will do away with Senate rules requiring a 60 vote majority and abuse the process of Reconciliation, as Reid said weeks ago, they would.

This is why they are giddy, they agreed to this.

Oh and BTW the devil wears Prada.
