ABC News' Sunlen Miller Reports: After emerging from a nearly hour meeting with the President, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said that there is now 90% agreement on the way forward for health care reform.
Even before the August recess, 80 percent of health care is already done, Reid said, In our conversations today, we think we're up to 90 percent of things there are agreed upon. We have 10 percent that we need to work on, and we can do that.
Pelosi and Reid sat down with the President and the Vice President for Oval Office this afternoon and emerged in front of reporters upbeat.
The president and vice president were very positive, Reid said, And it's in keeping with the conversations I've had with my members the past week; that is, we're reenergized, we're ready to do health care reform.
Pelosi said it is an exciting time and there is plenty to work from for the Finance Committee to act.
Reid said he, like the White House, has not seen a copy of Senator Baucuss draft bill yet.
The Majority Leader said that they are working on the 10% areas of disagreement and said they are still approaching this in the form of bipartisanship but did not rule out reconciliation.

Call.
=.=
Yep, put up or shut up.
I like that.
put em on the table.........
Please go for this...Pubbies and Marxist's alike!
Harry Reid can go F himself. Put up or shut up Reid. If you have full agreement on DeathCare, then pass it already. Heck, you should have passed it months ago. Pure BS, they don’t have the votes, otherwise they wouldn’t be begging Republicans to get on board
They think the town halls were rowdy and near riot, let them shove this crap down our throats...
Do it then. Dare ya.
only 10% is in dispute? I think it is a bit more than that Harry.
This is all smoke and mirrors and bait and switch. Obama is on record as wanting the government plan. They are going to come up with some grand "compromise" that will allow them to get what they want obliquely, after the sham bill with whatever provisions hidden away that will allow it, passes.
That's what they will try...but the American pople are so worked up over this, that enough Dems may jump ship to not allow even that to happen.
The last 10% in any aerospace software project is ALWAYS the source of 90% of the trouble.
In this case, I’d wager that the legislation is the same...
Republicans should campaign on REPEALING anything that gets passed.
Special Memo to all Congressional Republicans and also to Lindsey Graham and John McCain.
If you choose to support this poorly disguised confiscation of our health plans and choices, YOU shall face an avalanche of hyper-motivated voters who shall see to it that you are turned out in your next election; and, that you will find yourself every bit as popular and well-remembered as Arlen Specter and Larry Craig.
.
So there.
.
Oh, they have to read it just to vote on it?
Think of the attorney expenses and time involved.
This waste of time needs to stop.
Gees, read a bill just to vote on it for crying out loud.
They never have reversed any of the long march to socialism, why start now? Your faith is misplaced.
They’re gonna cram this down our throats.
Wishful thinking. The point of all this is that Democrats are afraid for the details to get out. They were given the means to pass a huge bill before voters even know what is going on and they will do just that because they reason that once it is done, they are invincible. The only thing that stops the arrogance of power is the willingness of the people who are paying attention to match every attack with a counterattack and not pretend to be powerless.
90% agreement on what? Lets see the Bill.
I’m saying that’s what they should do, not that they will do it. If McCain is the “leader” of the GOP, we’re in big trouble.
