Surgeon: Abortion Ups Breast Cancer Risk, Pregnancy Helps Lower It

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A prominent breast cancer surgeon and professor has written a new article for a medical publication saying that abortion increases a woman's risk of contracting breast cancer. On the other hand, miscarriage has no effect while a full-term pregnancy lowers the breast cancer risk.

It would be interesting to know if the risk is also increase if you have a miscarriage.

I suspect it is not good for your body to start gearing up for a baby (making milk ect) and then to loose it.

“Most first trimester miscarriages do not raise risk because “inadequate levels of the pregnancy hormones” during an abnormal pregnancy do not stimulate breast growth and “leave the mother’s breasts unchanged.””

This is the quote from the article. However, I had 3 miscarriages and I always knew I was pregnant because my breasts started getting tender and larger right away.

The author of the paper says 1st trimester miscarriage does not increase the chance of BC because hormone levels tend to be lower in pregnancies that will end in m/c.

She says premature birth before 32 weeks increases the risk. OTOH, a major cause of premature birth is preeclampsia, and that’s known to decrease the risk (impaired angiogenesis.)

I suspect risk varies greatly with cause of miscarriage or premature delivery, and other aspects of individual physiology.

Yeah, I miscarried at 13 and at 10 weeks, and I felt just as pregnant, achy and top-heavy while those babies lived as I did with the ones who made it all the way.

If you read the whole article you will find that miscarriage
doesn’t have the same effect as abortion.

But nobody should neglect regular exams based on this sort of report, thinking my risk is low because I’ve had a large number of kids. A friends fighting breast cancer right now had a big family (6 kids) and no family history of cancer in the family.

That Komen breast cancer fund raiser is coming up.

I remember hearing they were tied to planned parenthood.

A Freeper gave a link to an alternative group that actually does real breast cancer research.

Maybe someone can provide the link? I think it might have been in Arizona.

Thanks in advance.

I have heard this also. Does anybody have a link to support this? I would like to know how much money Komen send the murderers.

And cigarettes increase lung cancer risk. Is it any wonder breast cancer is so prevalent among hollywood actresses? Research has borne out for years that abortions increase breast cancer risk. Always glad to see more evidence, though.

So when will we see this leading on CNN and see public service announcements that “having abortions is bad for your health?”

Yeah. Right.
