The bottom line is we need the president of the United States of America to use his bully pulpit to talk to kids about the importance of education and to help inspire kids--Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers
It has come as quite a surprise to Randi Weingarten, the leftist National Education Association and teachers unions, Education Secretary Arne Duncan and the White House that not all parents are willing to toe the Democratic Party line when it comes to President Barack Obama using his “bully pulpit” to speak to America’s children on Tuesday.
In fact, as Fox News reports, some parents and school districts are downright outraged. Many parents, already subject to the whims of leftist schoolteachers, administrators and unions do not want their children--a captive audience--to be forced to watch an 18 minute speech from a far-left president without the benefit of knowing its contents in advance.
Even worse, what has really raised the ire of parents is the distribution of so-called “teachers manuals” containing post-speech “lesson plans” to be assigned to students, an unprecedented exploitation of administrative authority reminiscent of techniques used in the Soviet Union, China and North Korea, where schoolchildren were/are required to write letters to “Dear Leader.”

Parents! Shut up. Take your anti-depressants. Give your kids their Ritalin. Send them to “education” camp.
It wouldn’t do that, it’s afraid it might turn into a pillar of salt.
Most adults would be outraged by this. They have better things to do at work and if they want to see a Presidential speech they certainly have the opportunity to do so. But because it's children, oh yes, this is good for them.
Why not just bite the bullet and air 3 hours of OBAMA on every channel, every day...like his buddy Chavez? Jeez, if he’s going to “go there”, might as well do it with gusto. /sarc

Well, he ain’t talkin’ to my grands. Our superintendemt decided not to run it in our school district. He said if BO wants to talk to our children, do it in prime time with parents and students watching together. I see where BO had to drastically alter his speech......GOOD! :)

Strange times we live in.
When I was a kid we would stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance each morning before class. We were taught right from wrong, love for country, respect for our elders, about consequences—rule of law, and personal responsibility. We were taught honor.
Today, our children will be taught by an admitted cocaine addict, and dope smoker.
They will be taught by a man that does not love this country, disrespects our brave military Troops and gets satisfaction in bowing to those that would want to kill us all.
They will be taught by an authority figure that refused to place his hand over his heart, demonstrating disrespect for our flag and all of what it stands for.
They will be taught by a communist that is willing to commit them, our children, to a life of debt and slavery to the government. The American dream these children may have had, will be become the American nightmare.
They will be taught by a man who is willing to bring total personal destruction to a plumber, a common man, whose only crime was asking him a question and indicating his right, as a citizen, to disagree.
They will be taught by a white hating racist who had initially intended to just talk about himself.
If I had school age children, I wouldn’t even hesitate to keep my children out of school for the day.
Obama supports the killing of children before they see the light of day.
He is willing to destroy our country for his personal gratification and twisted view of America’s history.
Even though, after being pressured by patriots, Obama has changed the intended content of his speech to the children, there is no way in hell that this anti-American should be allowed to contaminate the minds of our children.
