Doesn’t irony also require a fundamental identifying of what is true? Democrats and especially liberals have no clue what is true and behave accordingly, lying as easily as breathing because they give themselves the right to lie in order to win. Such a state of dishonesty cannot fathom irony, no fraem of truth reference.

Huh. That hadn't even occurred to me. But now that you mention it, yeah. That has to be true.

Oddly enough, that is one of my usual complaints about satire (which I see as related to irony) is that if it is too close to the truth, it loses its effectiveness. My feeling is that if you can't differentiate satire from reality, then it cannot be satire. But it is that element of determining the truth in something.

I think you are correct. You have to be able to see reality/truth.

When I think about the Left's attempted "high tech lynching" of Clarence Thomas, the stark hypocrisy of everything Donna Brazile is saying in defense of Van Jones makes me want to vomit.

They used half-truths and outright lies in an attempt to destroy Justice Thomas. And, "they" were not a television and radio talk show host reporting documented facts. "They" were members of the United States Senate, and prominent liberals in other walks of life, including not a few people on television, who so hated everything for which Clarence Thomas stood that it wasn't enough for them to try to deny his confirmation to the SCOTUS. They wanted to destroy him with their lies. By the grace of God, they failed.

Van Jones and his ilk set out to destroy Glenn Beck because he is reporting the truth about them.

Conservatives don't want lies to be told about the people in this administration. We want the American people to know the TRUTH about them. By the grace of God, may the truth prevail.
