Obama Is Fast Losing White Voters' Support
His approval ratings with the crucial bloc have plunged since April. Strategists say the healthcare debate is largely to blame, but that's not the only reason.

Reporting from Washington - After a summer of healthcare battles and sliding approval ratings for President Obama, the White House is facing a troubling new trend: The voters losing faith in the president are the ones he had worked hardest to attract.
New surveys show steep declines in Obama's approval ratings among whites -- including Democrats and independents -- who were crucial elements of the diverse coalition that helped elect the country's first black president.
Among white Democrats, Obamas job approval rating has dropped 11 points since his 100-days mark in April, according to surveys by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press.
It has dropped by 9 points among white independents and whites over 50, and by 12 points among white women -- all groups that will be targeted by both parties in next year's midterm elections.
"While Obama has a lock on African Americans, his support among white voters seems to be almost in a free fall," said veteran Republican pollster Neil Newhouse.
Strategists in both parties blame Obama's decline on growing discontent with his policy agenda, particularly after a month of often-rowdy debate over his proposed healthcare overhaul, in which some conservatives accused him of socialism. Obama's ratings seem likely to rise again if he wins passage of healthcare legislation this fall.

A legislative defeat of any agenda casts a pall over ability to govern. At this point any healthcare bill, even one that affirms the status quo, will be spinned into Change We Can Believe In and give his ratings a boost.
Believe me, most black folks pay taxes, but they're too emotionally invested in Obama to think straight about him.
Some, like myself, had Obama's number from the get-go, but hey, I'm a conservative. I knew the guy was a Marxist phony all along.
Privately, I think that a lot of blacks are horrified at what's transpiring under his lead. There are many who still hold faith with the Democrat party, but haven't yet been turned into radical leftists. Those people are probably quietly wondering what the hell is wrong with him, and why on earth is he making such terrible moves.
I am relieved that this is finally off my chest.
Really? Where'd you see that, may I ask?
I'd like to know, because that's a very hopeful stat.
White Punks on Hope finally coming down?
I have heard it being said that this pic was “inauthentic” Is there any validity to this allegation?
Out here in the Golden State we still have white women in particular with their 0bama bumper stickers.
“Was going to say Ive heard grumbling across the board, with blacks being some of the bitterest critics. Reality is setting in everywhere.”
He’s caught between a rock and a hard place. I don’t think he’ll be able to pass anything of substance. He’s lost too much of the middle, and if he tries to appease the middle, his progressive (aka - communist) wing will bolt.
Hopefully he’ll pull (delay) the health bill, but then it’ll be crucial that we stop the cap & tax. That is a monstrosity that’s at least as bad if not worse. If we just manage to delay any major legislature into early next year when our reps start seriously thinking about the elections, then I think we’ll have stopped them for good.
Else, we have to do such a thorough housecleaning in November 2010 so as to repair the damage they did.
You have no idea how the media and government are going to cover its passage do you? It will be bigger news than the second coming of Jesus. It will be a celebration of everything that is Obama for months on end.
It really wasn’t black folks I was thinking of.. more the illegals who have infiltrated our country.
Since I made that comment about my family members still being 100% behind Obama, I stopped and realized that they're probably just not admitting to me that I was right.
It is sorta curious that they've completely stopped talking about politics, or gloating about The One.
I think you're right.
Here’s the reality. Pelosi and Reid must have sat down with Democratic strategists over the past two weeks. It’s a dismal position now...and only 14 months away from elections. They’ve got the hard-core democratic base locked onto this entire medical deal and the cap & trade tax. At best, this hard-core crowd represents forty-five percent of their base vote. The remaining mass of the vote...isn’t truely hard-core or they vote independent most of the time.
For Pelosi...you have to start worrying. For any changes you wanted to make...you have barely a year to get them through before an entire change takes place in the house, and the Republicans control it.
Pelosi has to also consider that Obama and his crew really don’t grasp the national trend and have planned a lousy program from day one on.
There is no escape at this point. The President won’t back down...the hard-core group are stuck on their agenda...and media isn’t delivering any knockout punches. Even the Olbermann character has developed into a third-rate delivery vehicle. He gets a quarter of the viewers that Fox gets.
It’s a lose-lose-lose scenario.
See for yourself.

OMG! I almost fell off the floor laughing so hard. Best damn laugh I've had all day.

Yep, the liberal support for this POS is unfathomable. And everyone who doesn’t support him is a racist hater. They cannot fathom why anyone would “stand in the way of progress”. I guess it’s how you define “progress”.
I am truly heartened, though, to see the Dems overreach so clumsily. And the more desperate they get, the more they will overreach. Don’t get me wrong, neither core fight (Gov’tCare, Cap & Trade) is over, and these weasels and the traitors on the GOP side would love to come up with a “foot in the door” compromise....*and I expect one or more will be passed*. But the tide is turning.
I heard it on Hannety last week.
That photoshop of the book jacket is so true that it’s hilarious. Saved to my computer in the ammo dump folder.
