NO! We are not opposed to a black president giving a speech to our children because he is black! We are opposed to him holding our children as a captive audience with a particular message to them that we, as their parents are unable to comment on or filter WHILE they watch it in case there is any information in the speech that we do NOT agree with. Furthermore, having the DOE make a LESSON plan to go along with it to make SURE and certain the message is gotten.
Add to that the man giving the speech, the man who is supposed to inspire the youth to do better, work harder etc, by his own admission: Skipped much of the last 2 years of high school to drink and use drugs, play basketball, and sealed ALL of his school records from elementary school to graduating college is going to be no more than a ‘do as I say, not as I do” example at best, or at worst, is going to encourage even WORSE behavior in students today who look at these facts about Obamas school career and think, if he can be president after skipping school, using drugs and alcohol, and generally slacking off, then WHY SHOULD I WORK HARD????

But there was quite an uproar when the other President Bush addressed students via TV - and that really was an education pep talk, if you will. No assignments for the kids on how to serve the president. Of course, as usual, facts can’t get in the way of democrat thinking.
