Flight from Hell (adventures of sitting next to your typical far left loser)
Self

Posted on 09/05/2009 7:29:02 AM PDT by NoobRep

As I'm flying back from Phoenix last night, I had the unfortunate experience of sitting next to your typical loony liberal, homoerotic, never married, middle-aged, balding, pansy, know-it-all about EVERYTHING accountant and part time music teacher (actually I was sitting in the aisle seat and away from this clown but next to the poor married woman in the seat next to me, who he made his new best friend).

First off, the guy had diarrhea of the mouth. He shut up only briefly during the entire three hour flight, telling the lady next to me that he was going to read his book, only to resume his sad and horribly uninteresting life story a few minutes later.

I could tell he was a liberal at first glance, as I've become very adept at spotting these loons a mile away. Just to piss him off, I put my copy of "The 5000 Year Leap" right on the seat next to him while I put my bag in the overhead compartment.

So he asks the lady next to me what she does for a living and she said she worked in health care. Of course, he had to give his opinion on the current health care debate, calling people who oppose healthcare reform selfish and saying they shouldn't be yelling during townhall meetings, along with saying that he couldn't understand our priority of building a tank versus providing health insurance to anyone and everyone. When he said he's in favor of "a little socialism" and started in on the "how much money is enough" garbage I just about lost it. He went on to talk about Sweden's great health care, his love of the NY Times crossword puzzles, watching Ted Kennedy's funeral and "Slumdog Millionaire," and quoting various obscure authors that only a far left goon would even care about.

Honestly, he acted a lot like a homo but it was really hard to tell because of his obsession with this woman sitting next to me (who by the way acted as though she had also met her best friend). Mr. Loon continued to follow this lady around after the flight landed, even going so far as to ask her for her last name. It wouldn't surprise me if this idiot ended up on the front page of the paper tomorrow for molesting a little kid-he had that kind of creepy persona. This guy was the biggest loser I've ever seen and I've seen some dandies in my time.

It’s almost as if you need to pack an ‘idiot repellent kit’ just to go out of your house these days.

My condolences. I work with two in my office. It was hell pre-election, but I don't think I've heard a political peep out of them for months now.

I wonder why?

Well, there IS worse. Try having one of these guys (my 31-year-old stepson, still depending on daddy)in the family. Even though he finds himself in this position, he still knows more that we do and can’t believe how brain-washed we are by right-wing radio and Fox News. I’m biding my time though. I’m waiting for the perfect moment to ask him how it is that we are idiots and he is all-knowing, yet he has to depend on us for everything he has and not the other way around. I expect this moment will come up after Christmas when, yet again, he joins us on our ski vacation because he can’t manage to save the money to have one of his own.

I commend you for not doing like the passengers on the movie "Airplane" who found various was to kill themselves when sitting next to the lead character as he told them his life story!

Well...did you say or do anything to him, other than let him see your book? As I read this, I kept hoping the story would end with you giving him some kind of clever zinger or put-down! I was also hoping you would gallantly rescue the lady whose ear he was bending, but it sounds like she was a lib, too.

“.....I don’t think I’ve heard a political peep out of them for months now.....”

Same thing from those who badgered me, called me every vile name in the book pre-election. A couple have asked a few questions about how I knew so much about 0bama and his goals before the election.

I avoid them. Keeps me out of jail because I want to smack them in the face!

You should’ve taken the opportunity to engage him in civil conversation, although if you got a few good comments in most likely he would’ve gotten angry, but he would’ve been exposed, these people need to be exposed.

My state rep, Democrat of course, came by two months ago while walking our neighborhood as they all do here. He’s a clean cut young man, full of energy and wanting everyone to love him.

He began telling me how wind and solar energy would solve our energy problems. I told him my wife works for an oil company and we are from Oklahoma and have been involved with oil and gas longer then he was old. I told him he was wrong and he insisted we can use wind and solar to stop using oil and gas.

Finally I asked him how this would be paid for since there are no funds to create such a large project? He said the federal government would pay for it. Then I asked him where the federal government would get the money?

You could have heard a pin drop.

Why didn’t you simply counter him?

when traveling it is not hard to stear the conversation to the weather or simply ask him to shut up.

The nice thing about the low Oboma approval numbers is that I am seeing fewer of his bumber stickers.

Seems like a lot of bandwagoneers out there.

Yep, Mr. Know-It-All couldn’t understand how a country of our wealth couldn’t provide health insurance to everyone. I thought to myself “Yeah we only have $67 trillion in unfunded mandates, we’re rich!”

I could have destroyed this guy in a debate-honestly though after spending most of the day in the airport, I didn’t feel much like embarrassing this poor sap. He was doing a fine job as it was.

Too bad you didn’t have Mark Levin’s “Liberty and Tyranny” with you. That would have made his head explode.

This is posted on FR but I did not get the link. Mark is a friend and he nails this BS healthcare scheme.

Lately whenever I am standing in line at the DMV, Post Office, etc., I tend to make rather loud editorial comments like "And these same people are going to run healthcare," "Why would anyone with a brain want the government to control anything?", etc.

Usually the people around me murmur "Right on," "You said it," or nod their heads vigorously in agreement.

Obviously plenty are just plain fed up. I hope they can maintain their disgust until November 2010. The Rats do have a habit of making that Kool-Aid awfully appealing when they need to...
