Can we now debate immigration? [McCain reportedly working with Obama on a new amnesty] [hurl alert]

(snip)

There is some Republican support for reform. Obama, Napolitano and Sen. John McCain share virtually the same immigration views. The president and McCain reportedly have been speaking in private on the issue. The Arizona Republican has been a leader for comprehensive reform, and with the improvement in enforcement, he now has all the political cover he needs to return to the ramparts.

Yes. All three want amnesty with chain migration. McCain is doing the bidding for his Chamber of Commerce whores who want quasi-slave labor, and plenty of it. The country be damned!

What all this means is that it is now time for political leaders in both parties to take the debate away from the shrill extremists and give what upward of two-thirds of all Americans repeatedly tell pollsters they want, in addition to enforcement: Bring the roughly 12 million unauthorized immigrants out of the shadows by offering earned legalization that requires they undergo background checks, learn English and pay taxes; and expand temporary work programs that meet future needs for immigrant workers.

Same tune, same band, different dance.

“and with the improvement in enforcement”

BS

“and give what upward of two-thirds of all Americans repeatedly tell pollsters they want, in addition to enforcement: Bring the roughly 12 million unauthorized immigrants out of the shadows by offering earned legalization”

More BS. These guys can sure twist polls to suit their needs! When the word ‘amnesty’ is used, no one wants it!
This ‘pay fines, blah, blah’ nonsense sounds good, but it will never happen.

Rassmussen 4/09: Seventy-four percent (74%) of U.S. voters continue to believe the federal government is not doing enough to secure the country’s borders, http://www.usnews.com/blogs/erbe/2009/04/16/poll-immigration-amnesty-is-unpopular-outside-the-beltway-pols-remain-clueless.html

“Which is more important: securing the border or legalizing undocumented workers?”

* 65% responded that gaining control of the border is more important.

* 26% responded that legalization is more important.
68% believe the passage of the bill would encourage more illegal immigration in the future.

“Loss of our culture, language....the American way of life. “

Not to mention our natural resources and land! The same people they would give amnesty just burned down at least 88,000 acres in California and are fighting for control of the rest of it.

“McCain is doing the bidding for his Chamber of Commerce whores who want quasi-slave labor, and plenty of it. The country be damned!”

Not only that, but one of McCain’s biggest donors has been the private prison systems...who make billions from incarcerating alien criminals and detention centers.

Just as an aside, for all the government ‘healthcare’ programs...medicaid, medicare, veterans, etc., only 2 provide really good service....prisons and alien detention centers.

We can’t.

Bill Richardson gets lots of contributions from the private prison systems. So did the Bush Administration. McCain got a good share as well as did Arnold S. of California and Haley Barbour.

Wackenhut Corp gave $21,600 to federal candidates in the 2006 election through its political action committee - 0% to Democrats and 100% to Republicans.

Great. when they “get over”healthcare” ...they’ll try to screw America next with immigration...once again.

What the he^& has so happened to the Executive and Legislative branches of American Gov’mt that it is so consistently and persistently 180 degrees out of whack of the sentiments of the American people? That ,my feloow Freepers, is a broken government.

“There is no practical or humane way to kick out 12 million people”

That is really not true.

If we did workplace enforcement, the illegals would self deport. Most of them have a home to go to in their own country. In contrast, the displaced American worker is often losing their home.

If we let 12,000,000 stay, if 10,000,000 are from Mexico and if we allow 2 relatives to come in, as we have done, then some 30,000,000 Mexicans will be in the United States. The population of Mexico is only about 100,000,000, so about a third of their population will be lost. That is devastating socially to that country and to this one.

In this economic climate, we dare not allow illegals to continue to work and take jobs from legal residents of the United States.
