Thank you for this very inspiring piece. My mother’s family was russian and migrated to Argentina after the czar was killed, etc. She moved to America by herself, and here I am today - first American generation with a large appreciation for what my mom endured and achieved. We are blessed indeed......... as of today.

Socialism has bankrupted and failed every society, while capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty than any other system.

Anybody who has “been there, done that” knows what lies ahead for America if we don't stop the statists.

“envy is the driving force of socialism”

That’s a quotable quote.

My next door neighbor worked in a lesser Soviet Design Bureau and one day decided he had had enough. He asked his future wife to go with him and they joined the list to emigrate. After a few years they finally were allowed to leave the USSR. This week they took their son to settle in at Harvard with a full scholarship. Some people still love this country.

The government-assigned salary of the proletariat (blue-collar worker) UAW worker was 30%-50% higher then any professional.

THERE ... FIXED IT!

SNIPPET from post no. 1:

"When I came to America in 1980 and experienced life in this country, I thought it was fortunate that those living in the USSR did not know how unfortunate they were.

Now in 2009, I realize how unfortunate it is that many Americans do not understand how fortunate they are. They vote to give government more and more power without understanding the consequences."

You’re confirming my observation and that of MANY others: Socialism hasn’t worked ANYWHERE and thugs are now trying to force it on Americans.

Showcase of Communism: North Korea. The party wonks ride in air-conditioned limos while the people eat grass in the summer. Dunno IF they eat in the winter.

I’d love it if Beck or others would interview people like this woman who have escaped communism.

They’re doing a great job of educating us on the ideology and the methods being used to implement the agenda, but it’d be great to hear first hand the reality of life in such regimes.

here is no perfect society. There are no perfect people. Critics say that greed is the driving force of capitalism. My answer is that envy is the driving force of socialism.

The Democratic Party could not exist without envy.
