The President
Any President
HAS NO BUSINESS IN THE SCHOOLS.
its bad enough the teachers Unions get a crack at pushing their political agendas on our children. No way No how should a politician, ANY politician be allowed to do so.
Sweet! How about it,America? Who’s gonna follow TX’s lead?
Hello my FRiends. You gotta love this story.
I emailed my childs Superintendent this request about 90 minutes ago:
Much is being said - for and against - Barack Obamas televised speech to be delivered nationwide to school students on September 8.
Im not seeing any information about it at the NEISD website: http://www.neisd.net/
I believe your office should make a full and complete public statement as soon as possible regarding the Districts official position on this speech. Will you show this speech to our children? Will you require parental approval if you do? Will you allow students to opt-out?
Thank you.

Message from superintendent about Presidents address
Dear NEISD Parent/Guardian,
There has been quite a bit of media attention recently over President Obamas address to school students on September 8, 2009. I am sending this message home to inform you about North East ISDs position on this.
To avoid a disruption to the school day and loss of academic time, NEISD will provide the Presidents address for families to watch at home if they so choose. The district will tape the speech and provide a link through the districts Parent Portal.
The decision to record the speech and make it available on our Web site is for logistics and convenience purposes. I realize the highly-charged political environment is in the news, but quite frankly, many students will be at lunch, P.E. and other activities outside the classroom during the original broadcast.
Regardless of political party, adults should model respect for the office of the President of the United States.
Thank you for your understanding on this matter.
Sincerely,
Richard A. Middleton
Superintendent of Schools

Those districts say there will be no punishment for students who choose not to watch the speech, and for teachers who chose not to teach it.
“teach it” ?
How the do you teach a political agenda speech?
Why would you teach a politicalagenda speech?
So long America thanks for all the freedom
Hello Socialist Democratic Republic of the United States.
Thanks for nothing...........
I think thats the proper attitude.
What a refreshingly smart compromise. It's shameful that Barack Obama put educators across the country in such a sticky position. Add up all the time school administrators from coast to coast have had to devote to handling this controversy & the $/hr cost would have purchased hundreds of thousands of books for kids.
So much for the WH's latest exercise in idiocy being "for the children". Once again, it's all about Obama's ego, it seems - and damn the consequences to everybody else.
Yes, my home town comes through.
Any word on Bulverde? I still have relatives there (Smithson Valley schools).
Here’s some FYI.
Never fall for the opt out option on anything. It is a trick to “NUDGE” you into doing something and to kids it is a stigma. This is just like signing up for a free book in a book club and then you are automatically IN unless and until you OPT OUT. No more of this opting out stuff. It is a tactic.
I went to Roosevelt many years ago in the NEISD - I got a good education compared to some around here! Good call on their part!
But there are advantages to being elected President. The day after I was elected, I had my high school grades classified Top Secret. - Ronald Reagan
I’ve got an idea, let the “O” do his speech & then right after it, let Glenn Beck talk to all the school children!!!!!
That’s a pretty sound decision.
Last I heard, the Austin ISD was leaving it up to the teachers (Libs) to make the choice.
Leander ISD following SA’s lead.

WFISD (TX) will not be showing the propaganda in their schools.

Texas is rapidly becoming God’s country!
Well done, Northeast San Antonio!!! My son went to one of the elementary schools there and they were great. Obviously they still are!!!
Good for them. I hope the sentiment catches on elsewhere.
Uh oh... Baroke Obama and Van “Ex-con Commie Cop Killer Lovin’” Jones are about to learn that they are not the only ones who know how to organize a community.
America is waking up.
Go Texas!! Who will follow?
