Public approval of Obama's foreign policy plummets
Washington Examiner ^ | 09/02/09 | Byron York

For much of the summer, as approval ratings for President Obama's handling of the economy, health care, the deficit, and other domestic issues declined, the one bright spot in the president's polling was his handling of foreign affairs.

No longer. The new CNN/Opinion Research poll, released Tuesday afternoon, shows a sharp decline in the public's approval of Obama's handling of a number of international issues.

In March, according to CNN, 67 percent of those surveyed approved of Obama's handling of the situation in Afghanistan. Now, that number is 49 percent -- an 18 percentage-point drop. The number of those who disapprove of Obama's Afghanistan policy has grown from 29 percent to 46 percent.

In March, 61 percent approved of Obama's handling of terrorism. Now, it's 52 percent -- a nine point drop. The number of people who disapprove has gone from 35 percent to 45 percent.

In March, 66 percent approved of Obama's handling of foreign affairs in general. Now, it's 54 percent -- a 12 point drop. The number of people who disapprove has gone from 28 percent to 42 percent.

Couple those results with Obama's already-anemic numbers on domestic policy issues -- in the CNN poll, he is below 50 percent approval on the economy, health care, taxes, the deficit, and Medicare -- and this has been a summer of extraordinary decline for a president whose overall approval rating once hovered near 70 percent.

Thank you Honduras.

Most of America has no clue what is going on with Honduras.

I do think, though, that BHOs obvious “surrender sovereignty” policy across the board is hurting him.

He is an empty, clueless suit.

On foreign policy with regard to Honduras, my survey indicates a 0% approval. Mainly based on its implications for the future of how -12bama will handle American domestic policy.

Obviously this is all racism. As more and more people realize Obama is black, they disapprove.

I work for a large corporation. Obama reminds me of some of our freshly minted managers. He thinks that because he's been put in charge that he must be the smartest guy on the staff and feels he needs to prove it every day by having "all the answers". And just like at work, the new manager act wears on people.

Obama doesn't work to win people over to his side. Instead he arrogantly lectures them, since he has all the answers.

If we've learned anything, we know more than to trust CNN.

“Obama doesn’t work to win people over to his side. Instead he arrogantly lectures them, since he has all the answers. “

That’s the difference between he and Clinton.

Clinton knew he had to win people over and he used his estimable power of persuasion to do it. All BO has is the fact that the press and the left-wingers love him. He doesn’t have charm and powers of persuasion like Clinton does.

“The people have lost trust in Obama and he’s NOT going to get it back.” - Rush Limbaugh

QUOTE: “Fouad Ajami [has] a brilliant piece posted on the Wall Street Journal website ...and it basically cuts to the chase. ..It’s just right on the money. The headline of this: “Obama’s Summer of Discontent.” The subhead: “The politics of charisma is so Third World. Americans were never going to buy into it for long.”

I can summarize this piece: Fouad Ajami says Barack Obama is not American. Not that he wasn’t born here. Not that he’s false and not that he’s violating the Constitution.

Culturally, he’s not American.

I’ll give you excerpts from Fouad Ajami’s piece to back that up. Fouad Ajami does NOT write that. Now, don’t misunderstand. This is my synthesizing of the piece.

The people have lost trust in Obama and he’s not going to get it back.” - Rush / Tues. 8/25/09 http://tinyurl.com/1xln

It is a good thing pacifism and Marxism don't blend very well :)

It is sort of hard to force people into the furness with arugula and harsh language.
