THOUSAND OAKS -- A 65 year old man had his finger bitten off Wednesday evening at a health care rally in Thousand Oaks, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff's investigators were called to Hillcrest and Lynn Road at 7:26 p.m.
About 100 protesters sponsored by MoveOn.org were having a rally supporting health care reform. A group of anti-health care reform protesters formed across the street.
When someone from the pro-reform side crossed over to the anti-reform side, a fist fight ensued, which resulted in the man's pinky finger getting bitten off.
It's believed the man was on the anti-health care reform side.
He took his finger and walked to Los Robles hospital for treatment.
Police don't know who bit the man's finger off, but they're investigating the incident.
Ok, as of this post, there’s 259 comments in this thread. Surely there’s at least one “tastes like chicken” post in here. I’m too lazy to look.
“a fist fight ensued, which resulted in the man’s pinky finger getting bitten off.”
Does a fist consist of a mouth as well as fingers and knuckles?
If this had happened under UhbamaCare, he’d probably be dead now from blood loss.
Yes, I thought it was Steyn, but I was trimming my soaps, not paying good attention, and I couldn’t remember which show it was. Thanks!
Next to Walter E. Williams, Steyn is my favorite fill-in host for Rush. Tomorrow, I’ll be listening more carefully.
Excellent graphic, too.
Oh come on.
Don’t you know it’s Republicans who push old people down stairs in their wheelchairs?
disgusting what Obama’s thugs will do.
but he has all his people gearing them up to do it.
they give these speeches and then ask people to harass legitimate older people to intimidate them. I guess when they can’t be intimidated, Obama thugs resort to whatever they can.
typical leftist response. They are all insane.
I just looked on the Huffingtonpost. They are claiming our side started it, of course.
Would have made for a very different ending to Godfather II.
(Recycling from Tyson-Holyfield).
It was a two-bit bout.
Oh, shoot.
Same type of person that thinks it’s proper to demonstrate and demand that their fellow citizen be forcibly robbed by the government in order to provide for a need they should be providing for themselves.
DRUDGE picked this up.........
WOOHOO
And the leftists posting in the comments section are actually defending their degenerate comrade.
Mike Tyson: Member of Code Pink?
Reaalllly. Then how are they able to isolate a rapist’s dna in a vaginal sample from the victim’s?
-- snip --...About 15 people opposed to President Barack Obamas proposed healthcare reform stood across the street from Moveon.orgs group. Members of Code Pink: Women for Peace also were there, authorities said.
The finger-biting incident occurred after Rice became involved in a heated discussion with a member of Code Pink, sheriffs Capt. Ross Bonfiglio said. After the argument, Rice returned to where his own group was standing. A man from Moveon.orgs area then walked over to the opponents and verbally confronted Rice, allegedly calling him names and acting aggressively, Bonfiglio said.
Rice later told investigators he felt threatened by the man and punched him in the nose, Bonfiglio said. The punch set off a fist fight between the two men, during which the tip of Rices left pinky finger was bitten off, Bonfiglio said.
Rice drove himself to Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center in Thousand Oaks. Another man found the bitten-off portion of the finger and brought it to Rice at the hospital, Bonfiglio said.
Doctors were not able to re-attach Rices finger.
Doctors told Rice the finger, severed near the second knuckle, would not survive because it had been cut by a human bite, he said in a phone interview today.
Rice said he did not initially plan to participate in any demonstration Wednesday. He was driving by the vigil when he spotted Code Pink members, and he stopped to see if they were protesting the military, he said. Rice has a son who is an officer in the Marine Corps.
After a brief conversation with Code Pink members, Rice said, he was satisfied they were not protesting the military. He was leaving when a man who seemed deranged approached and called him an idiot, he said.
Rice said he felt like the man had singled him out because he was the easiest target. But the incident happened quickly, he said, and he doesnt clearly remember everything that preceded the altercation.
Scott Bush, 43, of Thousand Oaks said he was standing with Rice in the group opposed to healthcare reform when a man walked from the Moveon.org group across the street and over a traffic island toward them.
Bush said the man asked the group if they were for a public health insurer option, and they responded no. The man then singled out Rice and asked him why, according to Bush. When Rice responded that he didnt want the government involved in anything, the man came to within 3 feet of Rice and yelled, Youre an idiot, Bush said.
Bush said Rice then hit the man in a defensive move. The man then pulled Rice into the street, according to Bush.
After a fight that lasted only a few seconds, Bush said, he heard Rice say, He bit my finger off, and he saw a stump.
Bush said he later found the roughly 1-inch piece of Rices finger next to the traffic island about 20 feet away.
The suspect fled the scene, authorities said. He was described as a short man with a medium build, wearing a blue cap, black shirt and black shorts. He remained at large this morning...
(RonDog added the bold part, which was not in the original.)
About 4:30-4:45 this was on Cavuto’s show on Fox. Bill Rice very succinctly answered questions.
Bottom line from Rice: belligerant Liberal guy ran at him, Rice defensively threw a punch, it landed, in his mouth, Liberal took a bite while retracting.
Fox TV News had a picture of the biter ... Picture imperfect ... Not a clear shot of face and strange in that his visible ankles indicate that his feet are in a shallow hole.
Thousand Oaks is one of the most conservative cities in the USA. The cops will leave no stone unturned to nail this prick.
Thanks!
