Critics Decry Obama's 'Indoctrination' Plan for Students (Wake up America before it's too late)
fox news ^ | 9/2/2009 | Joshua Rhett Miller

A suggested lesson plan that calls on school kids to write letters to themselves about what they can do to help President Obama is troubling some education experts, who say it establishes the president as a "superintendent in chief" and may indoctrinate children to support him politically.

But the White House says the speech is merely "designed to encourage kids to stay in school."

Obama will deliver a national address directly to students on Tuesday, which will be the first day of classes for many children across the country. The address, to be broadcast live on the White House's Web site, was announced in a letter to school principals last week by Education Secretary Arne Duncan.

Obama intends to "challenge students to work hard, set educational goals and take responsibility for their learning," Duncan wrote. Obama will also call for a "shared responsibility" among students, parents and educators to maximize learning potential.

"The goal of the speech and the lesson plans is to challenge students to work hard in school, to not drop out and to meet short-term goals like behaving in class, doing their homework and goals that parents and teachers alike can agree are noble," Tommy Vietor, a White House spokesman, told FOXNews.com. "This isn't a policy speech. This is a speech designed to encourage kids to stay in school."

But in advance of the address, the Department of Education has offered educators "classroom activities" to coincide with Obama's message.

Students in grades pre-K-6, for example, are encouraged to "write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president. These would be collected and redistributed at an appropriate later date by the teacher to make students accountable to their goals."

It appears that the Obama administration is opening a propaganda war on several fronts. Glenn Beck yesterday exposed a similar assay into the world of the arts by exploiting the financial hold that the National Endowment for the Arts has over artists whom they subsidize. Now we have Obama reaching into the educational establishment, which the federal government more and more subsidizes.

Both forays are repugnant to the spirit if not to the letter of the Constitution and to the American way of keeping government out of of such matters, especially where the institutions involved are funded by the government. As with Public Television and Public Radio, liberals never see the need for a firewall.

It is also instructive to consider that the administration is doing that which the Bush administration would never have done for two reasons. To Bush it would have been unseemly, unthinkable, and improper. It would also have been counterproductive because all of these institutions have been so it co-opted by the left that they are now virtual extensions of the Democrat party and any attempt by Bush to push propaganda the way Obama now is, would have been a firestorm of blowback.

But the Obama administration can proceed secure in the knowledge that the teachers will cover his back and spend the day filling out a propaganda effort on his behalf which he need not even explicitly ask for. Likewise, the White House in collusion with the National Endowment for the Arts, knows that the artists, all of whom seem to have supported Obama, will dutifully produce the kind of propaganda material in furtherance of the cult of personality.

There is a greater lesson than merely indignation to be drawn from this. Conservatives have got to understand that it is the culture war that ultimately will determine the political fate of our constitutional republic.

The ostensible goal might be to encourage kids to stay in school. It’s real purpose is to create a cult of personality to benefit Obama. Grab the kids young and make them into reliable unthinking Democrats for when they’re older.

Can you imagine that if George W. Bush had done this what the response of the libs would have been? This is nothing but political propaganda. I’ve never been into conspiracy theories before, but I’m starting to believe that we really, really do have a fascist in the White House.

My kid's school district is convinced this is nothing more than Indoctrination and that's why they aren't playing the game.

“Sept. 8 - President Obama’s address to students
In order to not interrupt instructional learning, the District will not be participating in President Obama’s live broadcast on Sept. 8. However, once the speech has been archived, a link will be provided on the District Web site to allow students and their families to access the speech at home.”

A mediocre intellect being manipulated by heirs to the ideological powers that indoctrinated him. Nothing more. This assclown would be selling used cars if he'd been left to rely on his own talents as a child. The poor SOB can't even elucidate a coherent thought without a pair of teleprompter screens stuck in his puss. Destroying the Leftist cabal doesn't necessarily mean destroying Obama - it first and foremost means taking down the reptilian collective who have their hand up his keister and making his jaw flap like a multi-culti Charlie McCarthy.

One of Hitler’s first acts in coming to power was to indoctrinate the children.
If I had a child in school on the day of zero’s speech to the kiddies you can bet my kid would be sick that day.
People better start waking up to this facist before it’s too late.

One simple question: would the nation's educational establishment have even entertained the idea of allowing Bush to do anything remotely similar?

He just wants to ingratiate himself on them, as one who “cares”.

How could someone who “cares” be evil?

I wonder if he will be interrupting the “schoochildren’s” spelling class anywhere. Perhaps he should send his news release team to one of the classes instead.
