WASHINGTON, Sept 2 (Reuters) - President Barack Obama is completing work on a new strategy to counter opposition to a U.S. healthcare overhaul and outlining specific areas for compromise, a senior Obama official said on Wednesday.
Obama is considering outlining his new approach in a major speech as early as next week to coincide with the return of the U.S. Congress after lawmakers' August recess.
In the past month, Americans surveyed in polls have shown increasing concern about Obama's handling of healthcare and his popularity with voters has declined.
A CBS News poll on Tuesday said most Americans found healthcare proposals discussed in Congress confusing and said Obama had not clearly explained his plans to overhaul the system, his top legislative priority.
During the August recess, passions boiled over at some town hall meetings held by lawmakers in their home districts, with opponents and proponents of the healthcare changes engaging in shouting matches

That's great news though. obama's already overexposed, which is impossible for a candidate but a serious problem once a politician is in office. His only skill is for TOTUS to make yet another major speech, and he hasn't figured out that each "major speech" by TOTUS weakens him without advancing his socialist causes.

You would not want to be Obama now. Like GWB a few years back he is going to have few friends trying to pass something. Being President with your own congress is always a dream turned nightmare.
New strategy: tell more lies and use new, focus group driven terms for the same old crap. In other words rename a sh#t sandwich to brown trout sandwich and tell people it tastes delicious.
In a nutshell it means he is trying to find some new ways to lie about the plan and to find some new villians to attack (insurance company executives) to try to dress the pig up with new lipstick and hope the public buys it.
Obama lost it when he claimed there are doctors who would amputate a person’s foot for 50k, and if this is his command of ‘facts’ after months of preparation then an additional month will not yield a different result. His fake Town Hall-style speech was an unmitigated disaster, so if he wants to try to plumb the depths of disaster in front of the nation, then by all means fire up the teleprompter and like Jerry Lewis in the 23rd hour of his telethon; fatigued, tie undone, trembling with unshaven hope give it your wholehearted best effort. Bring on the monkey on a unicycle lashing a bevy of horns, whistles and bells for DeadKennedyCare, the topsy-turvy charts and graphs, the CBO inside a tumbril and a troupe of commies dressed as nursing angels. Guess what we aren’t buying.
The clock is ticking, the more delay the better, he will explain more of what he doesn’t know. He will have to consult with the communist czars.
People should actually read history. Americans are taught about FDR's fireside chats like they were a weekly event. In actuality in 12 years in office FDR gave about 20 such chats. But because actually hearing a POTUS wa so new the collective memory of the chats has been wildly inaccurate.
Obama should keep to his schedule. When ABC presented its Cavemen series last year it had high hopes because of the publics response to the GEICO 30 and 60 second spots. The idea couldn't maintain itself and the show died after three episodes. Is Obama smarted than Cavemen. Here's to a resounding NO!
