Duggar Family Expecting 19th Freaking Child!
The Hollywood Gossip ^ | September 1st, 2009

Sometimes, 18 kids is simply not enough, so Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar of Tonitown, Ark., are expecting a new addition to their household this spring.

That's right, at that point they will have five more children than Nadya "Octomom" Suleman and 11 more children than Jon and Kate Gosselin. Wow.

"We are so thrilled," says Michelle, 42. "We just can't believe it is happening."

You can't, Michelle? Not after the previous 18 times you were pregnant?

Her husband, Jim Bob Duggar, 44, agrees: "I never gets old. We are so grateful for each child. We look forward to our first grand baby and 19th child."

Their first grandchild is due soon, as their oldest son Joshua, 21, is apparently getting a fast start in joining the family profession of making humans.

He and his wife are expecting a daughter next month, who will be older than her new aunt or uncle: "I think it is going to be awesome," Josh said.

I have know 4 Down’s babies and every one was a blessing to their parents. My oldest nephew who is nearly 3 years younger than I was born to a first time mom with a birth defect. His right leg was turned backwards from the knee down. He had to have it amputated when he was a toddler. That did not stop him from doing what my younger sister and I were doing. We never, ever let him get away with doing anything wrong just because he had a handicap.

When he was old enough he would go to the swimming pool, take off his leg and jump in. He could not play football but he was the water boy or whatever they needed him to do. He is retired now and is a house husband and loves it. He does all the housework, cooking, etc and even cans fruit.

Everyone accepted him for the person he was and that was that.

They do not want to use birth control because it caused a miscarriage years ago. What business is it of yours what they do?

You say:
“There is no place in scripture where masturbation is even mentioned, much less forbidden.

It is considered a sin OUTSIDE of marriage in the Catholic Catechism.”

I say:
You are clueless of the Catholic Chatechism. Either that or you are a lying liar who is full of liea.

Sure, miscarriages are tough, my wife and I had one.

Still there are ways around not getting pregnant.

Then there are those who claim God's will for this and that when it is their will be done.

IMO, they are real nice people but I thought the safety issues of having babies after 35 should be brought up. They of course will do what they want as they should.
I wish them the best, but some may say why take the risk when they had already a bushel of kids?
Some think they are cute, others wonder if they are out of their minds.

All kinds of opinions about this, but bottom line is I wish them well and health for their new baby coming.

Good and bad happens all the time, but when you have a gazillion kids and it is risky over 35, it should be mentioned it is a risk.
Parents are free to take the risks or not.
They may come out OK or not.

It isn't a judgment regarding babies born with problems, it is about maybe counting the 18 blessings and maybe not taking more risks trying to have children at an older age when you already have lots of them.

I’ve heard they are a beautiful family, who enjoys a good time, and each other. God Bless them all.

It’s best if women stop having kids by their mid thirties, that’ll save the child from Down’s syndrome (my younger sister was born with it and lives with it to this day).

That was one of many issues with over 35 kids.

For me it is the issue of risk being taken when she already had 18 healthy kids.

Count your blessings, why risk more and take all the older kids childhoods up with baby sitting?

...and can I say OUCH for the Mrs!...

Last I heard, your comment doesn't fall into the politically correct category of hate speech so you CAN say it. Realize though that you base your opinion solely on how you would not want to be pregnant so often.

Believe it or not, some women obviously enjoy being with child; they don't see it as a necessary inconvenience to put up with for 9 months X the number of children they bear.

If they looked upon it with an OUCH, they know they can make other choices.

,i>...everyone who knows someone who fits that charactistic will consider that you are attacking them.

Keep in mind that most of what you read here are opinions. Whether one agrees or disagrees with those opinions, they are free to say so. To take offense at them strikes me as a dramatic reaction.

One of my mother's many first cousins and his wife had 20 children. Two were stillborn, leaving eighteen. What others think has no bearing on their decisions.

Who cares?
