Duggar Family Expecting 19th Freaking Child!
The Hollywood Gossip ^ | September 1st, 2009

Sometimes, 18 kids is simply not enough, so Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar of Tonitown, Ark., are expecting a new addition to their household this spring.

That's right, at that point they will have five more children than Nadya "Octomom" Suleman and 11 more children than Jon and Kate Gosselin. Wow.

"We are so thrilled," says Michelle, 42. "We just can't believe it is happening."

You can't, Michelle? Not after the previous 18 times you were pregnant?

Her husband, Jim Bob Duggar, 44, agrees: "I never gets old. We are so grateful for each child. We look forward to our first grand baby and 19th child."

Their first grandchild is due soon, as their oldest son Joshua, 21, is apparently getting a fast start in joining the family profession of making humans.

He and his wife are expecting a daughter next month, who will be older than her new aunt or uncle: "I think it is going to be awesome," Josh said.

Job had 13 children, that were all killed. God blessed him with 13 more.

And as far as can be told, all from the same woman.

You talk about following the Bible, of a man taking care of his wife. And I do applaude you.

But you know nothing of this family, and yet your forming a judgement of them.

Watch just ONE show, and it becomes obvious that they strive to seek and obey God. Watch more and more shows, and it becomes clear that it is not just something they say, but consistently try to do.

Unless you are in a close relationship with these people, your comment is a judgement of them. A judgement NOT based on the Bible, but YOUROWN views, wrapped up with the Bible.

It is VERY POSSIBLE that God is the one blessing them. With 20 kids, I'd say it would almost be a forgone conclussion. With every child the Duggars give God the glory.

I'm sure with each child, their actions are not taken lightly. They are very well aware of their finances. How people view them. The responsibilities on each child. And the health of Michelle. From what I've seen, I'd be very surprised if they weren't praying long before, on whether to have another child.

So, if they are praying about. And they are relying on God. And you don't have a personal relationship with these people to say otherwise. You HAVE NO right to even question these people.

Maybe you have the right, by law. But not before God.

If these people are seeking Gods face, and he is the one blessing them, your objections ARE NOT with the Duggars, but with God.

Following the word of God and teaching His values to them will never breed failure in HIS eyes! What we think simply doesn’t matter. God bless this truly amazing and Biblically correct way to raise a family!

If she keeps having kids at 42 plus years of age, she is at real risk for a handicapped child.

Plus most women have fertility issues at this age. She must have tried hard to get pregnant.

Whoever wrote this snarky hit piece is probably OK with the 50 million unborn babies our nation has sanctioned to be killed.

The Duggers are not Jon and Kate....or the Octomom....

The Duggers cherish life and have the means to support their family.

Are you kidding? At this point her uterus probably knows how to get pregnant by itself. :)

Of course it’s none of our business...but it’s in the news, isn’t it? If it really was none of our business, everyone would keep their mouths closed. That being said, I was saying what I was saying in general...I really, really don’t care how many children people have. Ironically enough, I’ve been on numerous threads where I’ve been criticized for NOT having children by the same people on this thread...so .... we always have opinions. And here on FR, they’re usually strong ones!!! Have a great day!

huh? I didn’t say anything like that. I have been amazed and impressed by the Duggars since first hearing about them and have only said that they are blessed by God and I admire them. I think you may want to post that to someone else, not me.

Oh, I see. Earlie I asked a harmless question of a poster who said his father was one of 17 kids. I asked that question because another poster made some kind of comment along those lines. It was a legitimate question.I was asking about his dad’s reflections on coming from a large family, not your opinion about the Duggar’s family or the size of any other family. It was a specific question for that person.

Part of caring for someone is to look after their best interests. It cannot be denied that this woman’s health is at great risk. What they do is their business, but it seems an odd way to look after his wife’s well-being.

She has a fantastic doctor who helps to 'look out for her best interest'. Since you obviously have no clue about her 'health' I don't think you should be concerned. Besides, they aren't as stupid as you seem to suggest. They look after each and every family members health and well being.

Wouldn't you be a little concerned if someone said the same thing about your family as if you weren't looking after their health? As if that would be anyone's business but yours.

Damn, how many pictures of them are you gonna post?

Around here, when someone doesn't like the topic, they don't open the thread. Part of the fun of this forum is to post pictures, lots of pictures. It isn't just this subject but many subjects where we like pictures. If it bothers you go to another thread.

I love being pregnant. I feel great when I am pregnant. Three pregnancy and I only threw up three times. The rest of the time was a breeze. Except for the delivery part!

I am just curious, did your father resent coming from a large family?

Sorry, I read your comment as a negative question towards guinessman. I read it that you assumed that his father was resentful of his large family.

My comment though addied to you, was also directed at anyone who has a negative view of the Duggars.

No problem, I have found that most people from large families love it. I know I did but I came from a family of only 6 kids. We have 5 kids and the now-grown kids have commented that it would have been nice to have more siblings! I got a kick out of that.

My husband’s grandma was the oldest of nine children and she said she was upset every time her mother got pregnant because that meant more work for her. I kept my mouth shut but thought that was odd and selfish. I had a lot of work with 4 younger siblings but I adored them and didn’t mind a bit. Mom had preemie twins and a toddler when I was 10 and they took a lot of extra care and work and I was THRILLED to look after them with her.

I myself am a homely child only child :)
I wish I had siblings.

My best friend has 7, with #8 on the way. VERY well behaved kids.

I have a friend in Colorado, I haven't seen in years. She was adopted with her sister and 2 brothers into a family. She knew her biological parents, but there was NO DOUBT that the people who adopted her wer MOM and DAD.

Last I knew her mom 50 at the time, and dad 66, were looking at adopting two more kids. They were foster kids they had. The boy was 8 and the girl 5 or 6.

The parents went to the rest of the kids, some adults, the rest not, and told them their thought. They said that if they were to do this, because of their age, Phil being 66, that they would need the rest of the families help. ALL the kids, biological and adopted, gave a thumbs up.

Between biological kids and adopted kids, there were (with the 2 add ons) 26 kids. There were 115 foster kids through their home throughout the years.

Jen (my friend) and her mom (adopted) got along like sisters.

If there would have been a family that could have had resentments, it could have been this one, melding biologicals and adopted and having 115 fosters over the years. Obviously they did it right. Each of those kids knew THEY were loved, and knew how to GIVE love.

And you know nothing about me but are forming a judgment about me. So, I suppose we are even.

I did not say they were stupid. I believe they are misguided, but, as I said before, that is my opinion.

This family invites public discussion of their lifestyle by being on television. It comes with the territory.
