Thousands attend tea party protest in ABQ
A vocal crowd of over a thousand people gathered near Montgomery and Louisiana Boulevard in Albuquerque Wednesday to protest the federal government's spending habits.
Retired teacher Yvonne Estrada gave up her bowling night to join thousands of other New Mexicans Wednesday who turned out to voice their concerns about the economy and the federal government's spending habits.
Estrada says she's worried about where America is headed. She joined a march of several hundred people along a busy Albuquerque street during rush hour. Her sign read, "I am not your ATM." Estrada says she wouldn't have any money in her checking account if she ran things the way Congress does.
Organizers of the event say about 3,000 people showed up to express their opinion about the government.

(Don't be thrown off by mentions of Montgomery. That's the name of the street!)
Momentum is definitely building!
“Organizers expected a big turnout and they got one.”
Ping.
Thousands turn out in Albuquerque, New Mexico? The liberal, Democrat, L.A. of the southwest? Govenor Bill Richardson!
Thousands! I have died and woke up in Heaven!
Check out the video. We’re winning.
about 3,000 people showed upThat's a lot of Albuquerqueians.
I love the anchor accentuating “THOUSANDS”. LOL!
Maybe some NM’ers can confirm this but I have heard a lot of old time Mexican-Americans who have been citizens for a long long time or parents and grandparents were born in the USA who live in NM do not like Obama.
A lot of these people are long time Dems and they really do not like O.
Great turnout and a great job by those who showed up.
I watched the video! I’m ecstatic! Really! If we are winning in Albuquerque, we are winning the war!

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Odumbas* is probably getting all wee weed up as the protests grow and his poll numbers continue to tank.
Thousands? Wow!
Wonder what we'll have when the busses hit the South?
There were thousands of people there and very little media coverage.
Of course the actual attendance was under reported by 90%.
Thats why there needs to be a way to foolproof counting a crowd.
Just put up a balloon with a camera and input the photo into a PC equipped with the proper software and the days of the COMMIE PRESS MANIPULATING CROWD SIZE DATA ARE OVER.
The press report said 3000, are you saying there were 30,000 there?
I was talking bout BR.
I lived in El Paso for a year while my son was deployed to Korea, and was pleasantly surpised at how many of the the “old-time Mexican American” residents of EP were quite conservative, and NOT AT ALL happy about ILLEGAL immigrants pouring across the border and demanding all the perqs of being citizens of this country. They also did not like the idea of our country becoming a nation “under Government”, instead of “under God”!
