It wasn't just "militant, dogmatic" atheists and "disaffected" Christians that the Catholic League president complained about either. Donohue also had a few choice words for magicians Penn & Teller whose Showtime series, Penn & Teller: Bullsh*t!, just ran an episode on the history of the Catholic Church. "This was the most Nazi-like assault,” Donohue said. “The most unrelenting half an hour of bashing I’ve ever seen.”
Bill Donohue made his comments on the Fox Network show Fox & Friends. He appeared there in order to promote his new book, Secular Sabotage: How Liberals Are Destroying Religion and Culture in America.

Everyone knows what you get with Penn and Teller (bullsh#t). Poorly researched, personal opinion mixed in with folk lore, urban legend cr*p. I still find them mildy amusing at times!

From what I’ve seen, Penn is quite tolerant of believers (much more than many militant atheists).

Yeah, Catholics: Toe the line and shut up about the entrenched corruption and sexual misdeeds or you’ll be singled out like a Zerobama protester at a union rally.

You’ve got to admit, to get those environmentalist whackos to sign the petition to ban Dihydrogen Monoxide was pure brilliance.
Other than the religious aspects, for the most part Penn and Teller are right on. And even on the religious aspects, they make a point. But that says more about those who use religion as a scam, than on those who truly do believe in God.

From what I’ve seen, it’s more than could be said about a number of the posters on this forum where atheists are involved.
Most atheists don’t really care what other people believe, we just don’t happen to share those beliefs, or be forced to participate in them - although most of us also don’t really care about references to God in national anthems and the like, either.
I do remember that - very funny. Penn and Teller just take the opposite view from those precious held ones and use that to make a show - I don’t begrudge them that - people should just realise that what they are watching is comedy or an attempt at it and should not take it too seriously. They are laughing all the way to the bank.

And they also really took the “truthers” to task as well.
A pattern I’ve noticed is that there are many Catholics who link their identity more to their church than to Christ. So Penn & Teller’s show on the Catholic Church is probably far more outrageous to the Catholic League than anything else they have ever said about worshiping God.
