Media remains convinced that nothing important happens outside the East Coast Metroplex Corridor.

I think the unraveling needs to start with this idiot press secretary Bahgdad Bob Gibbs.

Any question this guy doesn’t want to answer he says, “I’m not familiar with that survey or that article etc.”

No one follows up with questions.

He passes off answers in the most condescending fashion and always with his disrespectful remarks about Bush and Cheney etc.

The MSM needs to corner this guy. Do their homework, and ask some pointed questions.

“Did the president know about the Lockerbie bomber release before it was announced?”

“Is it true and if so, why has the president spent millions of dollars employing an army of lawyers, to squelch any investigation of his past records, whether they be of his birth, his early education, his law school writings and any Illinois Legislature information.”

“How is President Obama celebrating Ramadan?”

And Obama’s patient, didactic responses have not quieted the reaction

Well Mr. Broder, the public does not like being lied to. The public has a copy of the bill and can compare Obama's "didactic" responses to what is actually in the bill. They found out he was lying and now they are beyond pissed.

Get over yourself Broder, you are not all that smart, and this article is proof of that.

Entire RAT kingdom is going to unravel. They’ve awakened the sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve. That resolve is to sweep out the Congress and start over with patriots.

Some in the MSM are trying to explain why Obama is failing and republicans are not getting blamed, not Bush, not McCain, not Newt.

How about the McCain or Die republicans that told us if McCain loses Democrats will be able to pass anything Obama wants? Now of course they claim Obama is even worse than they thought promoting a backlash, as if they predicted this all along. But they (Levin, Hannity and others) were predicting ‘death camps’ and Obama using the ‘fairness doctrine’ to shut down opposing media(now would be a good time if he was to do it.) . So it’s hardly like Democrats are worse than predicted.

I dont know about you but I see FNC doing a great job reporting on democrats, and FNC has not shut it down yet here in Liberal Maryland, Levin not down either,

Now they are playing catch-up.

They're just doing what they're told.

In sum: in their area of presumed expertise and where their journalistic efforts have been most focused, mainstream news reporting and punditry were the most inept and most inaccurate.

That is the price of partisan journalism. Where a commitment to a candidate or a point of view results in hostility and denial toward contraindicative data you've lost your ability to see the story, much less tell it. That explains part of the open anger we see evidenced toward the Tea Parties - the willingness to disparage the participants as "tea-baggers" and oppose rather than interrogate. The difficulty is not that some in the media are like this, because that's always been the case. The difficulty is that so many are now and all in a similar ideological alignment.

The author seems to agree:

It therefore shouldn’t come as a surprise that the mainstream media and their stable of Beltway pundits missed the boat on the public’s reaction to Obama’s health care offensive. Chatting mostly among themselves, susceptible to (if not anxious to pass on) Democratic talking points, and devoid of many (any?) conservative colleagues willing to challenge their assumptions, they are easily blindsided when reality intervenes.

Meanwhile Fox continues to dominate the ratings and their competitors seem baffled by it. At some point you don't even feel sorry for the strident, ignorant parrots anymore, you just turn them off.

51 posts and no one commented that the headline should be “Media STUNED as ObamaCare Unravels”?!
Other than that, a great read.
Fairly short and deadly accurate.
