Apologies if this is posted already. My search did not turn up any results. Apparently this happend Friday. My retired AWACS friends and I are just finding out about this through an email this morning.
The plane looks like a total loss to me.

No big deal. Under the upcoming provisions of “One Air Force, One Airplane,” this bird was set to be retired and replaced by a single “superplane” that performs all tactical and strategic requirements of the Air Force and will be centrally controlled from one point in the continental United States.
