Vicki Kennedy should be considered as a potential interim replacement for her late husband in the U.S. Senate, lawmakers from both sides of the aisle said Sunday.

"I think Vicki ought to be considered," Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said on CNN's "State of the Union."

"She's a very brilliant lawyer. She's a very solid individual," Hatch said of Sen. Edward Kennedy's widow. "She certainly made a difference in Ted's life, let me tell you. And I have nothing but great respect for her."

Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.), a close friend of Ted Kennedy, said he too would be supportive of Vicki Kennedy if she wanted the job. So far, she's told friends she's not interested.

NO.

The DemonRATs eliminated gubernatiorial appointments to Senate seats when Romney (R) was governor and Lurch was running for presidink. They didn’t want Romney (R) appointing an (R) to a seat to which the RATs believe they have a Divine right.

Of course, I don’t think they had anything to worry about from Romney (R).

But now their perfidy has returned on them.

The will need to have a special election or quickly pass a new law that gives the DemonRAT governor, Devil Patrick, the prerogative to make an appointment to a vacant Senate seat.

My guess is that they will pass the law.

They need to have that 60th vote to cram Cap & Trade and Obamacare.

The Senate will wait to act on these bills until the Devil Patrick can make a RAT appointment.

This idea to appoint an interim Senator is actually new. I know the background for the change to requiring a special election within 5 months vs appointing a replacement as it was when Romney was Gov. and might replace Kerry with a RINO but this is kind of a hybrid idea. So my question still applies.

"I think Vicki ought to be considered," Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said on CNN's "State of the Union."

I think maybe Orin did some good things in the past, but I've also heard him brag about how he worked with Slick Willy to agree on a SCOTUS nominee who turned out to be Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It's seems well past time for the voters of Utah to take a close look at their two long serving senators. I often hear Utah described as the most conservative state, but you can't always tell from the behavior of their senators.

Orin's just been inside the Beltway far too long.

The most interesting part of all this to me is that the Massachusetts Democrats don’t seem very confident that voters would choose a socialist Democrat as a replacement.
