Yup - the boys from Chula Vista, near San Diego won the Little League World series.
First time for a California team.
Good job boys.
Congrats to our American boys!!
Our esteemed VP, Mr Biden was there getting his face in front of every camera he could find. He was even trying to stage the teams victory picture. It was disgusting.
Local area boys! So sweet!!!
I watched it. It was awesome to root for California. FINALLY something to cheer about in this state. Those kids are amazing. They all have great futures in MLB
I prefer “The Republic of China.”
Also acceptable!
Of course I think within the next ten years, the ChiComs will simply buy out Taiwan, and gain it without firing a shot.
The good news is that I think they would administer pretty much like they do Hong Kong.
The Formosan team got beat?
I second that. Good job boys.

Includes today. Way to go, Chula Vista!
It is TAIWAN. I have yet to meet a Taiwanese refer to Chang Kai Shek Airport, as an example, as Chinese Taipei airport..it is insulting to them. This is like calling Puerto Ricans..Americans, Okinawans as Japanese or Tibetans as Chinese Tibetans.
And I’ll bet tomorrow’s sport sections have headlines like, “California Tops Taiwan.”
Let’s hope so.
I saw a few minutes of that and those little creeps are no better than the professionals!
They learned their habbits from them apparently, scratch your ass ans spit!
Then do it over and over!
Sure, but there’s a big chunk of people on that island that won’t accept any name but Taiwan!
Yep, officially, still officially ROC. But I’m finding more and more that “ROC” is limited to officialities.
The team from Goleta Valley won in 1978 or something like that. Maybe the second time for a team from California but a big win nonetheless. Congratulations guys!
On second check, the Goleta, CA team was in the “senior” league, not the “little” league.
“Chinese Taipei is a phony distinction made to placate the mainlanders. Reality says Taiwan.”
Not only that, but Taiwan is US territory. We got it from Japan in 1945, and legally have never given it up.
So the US team from California beat the US team from Taiwan!
That would be one heck of a 51st state!
