"This used to be America," argued a protester outside a health-care town hall meeting in Reston, Va., after a police officer threatened him with arrest for holding up a sign with a picture critical of Barack Obama.
The officer's response?
"It ain't no more, OK?"
A video of the town hall held earlier this week by Rep. Jim Moran, D-Va., shows an unnamed protester standing on school grounds carrying a sign that read "Organizing for National Socialist Health Care The Final Solution" and depicted Barack Obama in the Joker's makeup.
Officer Wesley Cheeks Jr. then told the protester that even though others were holding signs, his sign was unacceptable because of the depiction of Obama.
"But you got this with a picture," Cheeks said, explaining why the protester was being singled out from the others. "That's the difference. This has got a picture on it. That don't have a picture on it.
"Sir, leave the picture down," the officer said. "If you put the picture back up, you'll be charged with trespassing."

He’s Fairfax (VA) P.D.
In fairness, most of his colleagues on FCPD are pretty decent. This guy is just a jackass.
I’m sure there is a law somewhere in one of the bills passed in congress that no one read that will support this officer of the law. We can not have this kind of disrespect taking place by unruly mobs and right wing militants. /s
I'm sure that the gentleman with the sign had to go to work the next day -- the key difference between Conservative-activists and their Liberal counterparts.
He's a black officer...He is in the video
These type bureaucrat drones will be administering and enforcing 0bama-care
This officer did not arrest anyone...he did back down
0bama's objective is to make it so the black officer will not back down next time
He'll throw the protestors as in jail
Thanks God the incident was video taped...It kept the officer honest
I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Who was the other a-hole trying to back up that dumb cop?
Different rules for protests at a public event cause its on the school grounds.... I don’t think so.
What I mean to say of course, PLM, is that he is a very small, insignificant minnow, and he has already served our purposes, i.e. on YouTube and elsewhere, but that we have much bigger fish to fry. Of course he is part of the enemy structure, but he himself is nothing to lose sleep over. It is much bigger and much higher up than Mr. Cheeks. Believe me.
I said and meant, including in later clarifications, we have bigger fish to fry than this lowly idiot, a low level programmed robot from their side, from a general tactical perspective. Thanks for allowing me to clarify.
But, fine, if you disagree with me, by all means, please flood the Reston police department with phone calls and e mails. I'm not opposed to it.
I see your perspective. You lead the charge...tell me where the website is or the effort is being made, in an organized fashion, to get him reprimanded.
You are famous, now, Jeff. I mean EVEN MORE FAMOUS NOW. lol!
One thing is for sure: That one fellow stepping in, that pu”sy, HAD to have been wearing Birkenstocks, holding a Starbucks Machiatto, and just had come from his Miata, having listened to NPR’s All Things Considered or the Diane Rehm Show. Man I could smell that liberalism and that attitude clear over here across the Pacific and one continent away!
I don't believe that is the case at all. Here is what you said:
"They enemy is not Mr. Cheeks, who is just a stupid tool in this very elucidating incident now for the whole WORLD to see.
When you think about it, the enemy is much higher up than this street goon in Virginia.
We should not go "Joe The Plumber" on him, as a man, just on principle.
Our fight is with powers and principalities much higher than this loon.
"
Now while I quite agree our fight is with the higher ups who utilize these uneducated folks for their own purposes, it is ALSO with those they get to do their bidding. If we are to win we must take the fight to ALL of them. By going after this "policeman" aggressively (legally) it will make it that much harder for the elitists to recruit more of these "useful idiots" to do their bidding
Actually, inspite of his being wrong, I find the SSO seemed well mannered, polite, and reserved in expressing his disdain for the Obama picture. Oh boy, I hope those are plastic darts I see headed my way already.
Hear me out. I think we all know, or have witnessed other democratic officers of like mind, while performing in the line of duty, why, they would have yanked the poster from protester’s hands when he refused their command to put it down. Then they would have tasered and cuffed the guy for refusing to comply with the commands of an officer. Since after being tasered and ordered to remain still, unable to comply, they would have tasered him again, adding resisting arrest to the charges as well.
After an “exhaustive” investigation, the cop’s spokesperson would go public with the statement “it was found the officers were acting justifiably and within depart(mental) policy guidelines.”
End of story.
Hey, I’m just keepin on the sunny side. :)

Thank you for posting that picture! There was some discussion on a different thread as to whether the guy is a real cop or just a security guy. I wanted a pic to see the uniform better.
You're right, he was very well-mannered and polite as he was delivering his naked threats of assault, kidnapping and extortion in the form of arrest, imprisonment, and fines over the exercise of First Amendment rights.
If only all criminals were as polite and well-mannered, crime victims wouldn't be so traumatized at the end of their ordeals.
I don't have standing to press charges, and I live about a thousand miles away. There's lots of activists in Virginia though, and I'm sure some folks in Virginia, such as the person who was the vicim of Cheeks' crime, and patriots like Danladi Moore who has whipped Norfolk's butt a few times, will spearhead this effort.
