Palin comes out in support of Fox's Beck over boycott

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is jumping into the fray over Fox News talk show host Glenn Beck, whose assertion last month that President Barack Obama is "a racist" led to a boycott of the companies advertising on his show, and ultimately, led some to drop their sponsorship of his show.

Palin on Wednesday had this to say on Facebook, the social networking Web site that, since she stepped down as governor, has been the former Republican vice presidential candidate's main platform for communicating: "FOX News' Glenn Beck is doing an extraordinary job this week walking America behind the scenes of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and outlining who is actually running the White House.

"Monday night he asked us to invite one friend to watch; tonight I invite all my friends to watch."

Palin is referring to Beck's attack this week on the background of Van Jones, who the Los Angeles Times describes as "a White House environmental advisor and co-founder of an African American political advocacy group that organized an advertising boycott of his program."

Color of Change launched the boycott of Beck's advertisers for remarks he made July 29 on "Fox and Friends," the cable channel's morning program. Beck was talking about Obama’s "beer summit" between Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. and James Crowley, the Cambridge, Mass., police sergeant who arrested Gates. Here's what Beck said: "This president, I think, has exposed himself as a guy over and over and over again, who has a deep-seated hatred for white people, or the white culture, I don't know what it is," Beck said. He added, "I'm not saying he doesn't like white people, I'm saying he has a problem. This guy is, I believe, a racist."(continued)

Tis always the problem with an ugly truth. Shall we proclaim it because it is true, or do we ignore it because it is ugly?

All the lefties will try to demonize Beck and shut him up. They'll do that by saying whoever watches him is a racist and even a terrorist.

Don't fall for the BS anymore.

We must support Beck at every opportunity.

I don’t think obama is a racist. He probably hates black people even more than white people with his support for abortion and socialist policies that keep black people down and out of work.

If Beck says something that makes me think he is a moderate I will be the first to tune him out (on the web, no tv for me) but until then, GO GB! What he said was right.

God Bless Sarah Palin for supporting Glenn Beck. If anyone understands what it’s like to be the target of the liberal lunatics, it’s Sarah Palin. I’ve watched Glenn Beck since he was on CNN, and now on Fox News. I just adore him, he is spot on and speaks the TRUTH. The left is just pissed that Sarah told all of her facebook friends to watch Glenn’s show, thus, giving him ratings, because the bastards want to bring him down. It won’t work. With just one click on her facebook page, Glenn probably got another 800,000+ viewers to watch his show today

I like to mention something, when someone say you’re anti something. It doesn’t necessarily mean you HATE something, though it can include that. Anti can also mean you have a bias against e.g You anti-american. It doesn’t mean you hate americans since you could be friends with some americans, it just means you have a prejudice against americans in general - culture, food, ppl etc.

Obama is anti-white. He has a prejudice towards white ppl. He wrote and spoken about it himself in his bio and elsewhere

You can be racist and still have friends that is white. Just as someone can be anti-american and still have american friends e.g you dislike their culture

could we say that the Obama administration is targetting Beck? to shut him up? They used front groups to do their dirty work and those groups are tired to ppl directly in the Obama administration

obama has ‘friends’ that are black but I don’t think he wants to deal with them in Martha’s Vineyard. He just used them to get elected.

I think if you can read between the lines you can see that Beck is essentially correct and that Obama is indeed a racist in that he hates white people. You can see it in the way he conducts his affairs. It's the way he trashes the US. It's in the low quality of his appointments. You can catch in on the edge of his remarks.

I've conveyed this to several white people who I know voted for Obama. They denied it but they were never able to refute my points. I could sense the possibility that they were beginning to feel as though they were duped. Now I don't know if they are going to come around and admit they were wrong about him. Few things and life are more difficult that having to admit that you are or were incredibly stupid. That's a bitter pill to swallow.

Sometimes when you call a spade a spade - people just can’t handle it. They can not handle the truth. And as for boycotting - some “reverse” boycotting is the answer. I am glad to see others doing this.

Hating one racial group doesn’t nesseccarily make one a racist in the literal definition of the word. But it sure as hell makes one a BIGOT. To be a bigot one has to knowingly hate and besmurch because of some deep rooted reason they feel from lifes experiences. To be a racist is more a sympton of not knowing better.

The term racist is defined by seeing one race as inferior to another as superior. I don’t see his actions in that way but he definately has a problem with “whitey”.

In a sane and civil world (non-Fascist), the talk would focus on the evidence, pro and con, associated with the racist remark. On what basis did Glen Beck make that remark?

Is there substance to Glen's argument? IMO there is substance to his assertion. A civil discussion or debate over that would make sense to over 50% of the people in this country; that is, to folks with ordered minds.
